OFC Professional League
The OFC Professional League is a planned association football league set to debut in January 2026, under the auspices of the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC). It will consist of eight premier clubs from across the Pacific, establishing a professional framework for football development in the region. History In 2019, the Oceania Football Confederation formed a task force to determine the viability of a professional football league for the Oceania region. The league was initially expected to begin play in 2021. However, progress was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. On 19 November 2022 in Doha, Qatar, the OFC Executive Committee voted to move forward with the league, initially targeting a 2025 launch. The launch was later postponed to 2026 to allow clubs time to transition to fully professional status. European Super League
The Unify League (UL), previously known as the European Super League (ESL), was a proposed seasonal football competition for clubs in Europe. It was supposed to be organised by the European Super League Company, S.L., a commercial enterprise created to rival or replace the UEFA Champions League. The initial iteration of the league entailed 20 teams, with 15 of them being founding members of the competition. The leadership behind the UL is Florentino Pérez (president of Real Madrid). African Football League
The African Football League (AFL) was a continental men's club football competition organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF). It was announced on 28 November 2019 by Gianni Infantino, president of FIFA and it was initially launched as the Africa Super League on 10 August 2022 in Tanzania and was to include twenty-four elite African clubs with a promotion and relegation system, but was scaled down to eight teams for its inaugural edition in 2023 that won by Mamelodi Sundowns. Moana Pasifika is a professional rugby union team based in New Zealand and made up of players from various Pacific Island nations as well as New Zealand or Australian born players of Pasifika heritage, including Fiji, Samoa, Tonga and the Cook Islands who play in the Super Rugby Pacific competition. Many of its players represent Tonga and Samoa at the international level, while it also includes current and former All Blacks such as brothers Ardie and Julian Savea. Super Rugby is a men's professional rugby union club competition involving teams from Australia, Fiji, New Zealand, and the Pacific Islands. It has previously included teams from Argentina, Japan, and South Africa.
