Norwalk is a city in Los Angeles County, California, United States. The population was 105,549 at the 2010 census and an estimated 103,949 in 2019. It is the 58th most densely-populated city in California. Founded in the late 19th century, Norwalk was incorporated as a city in 1957. Norwalk/Santa Fe Springs is a Metrolink rail station in the city of Norwalk, California. It is served by Metrolink's 91 Line from Los Angeles Union Station to Riverside and Metrolink's Orange County Line running from Los Angeles Union Station to Oceanside. On weekdays, this station is served by 19 Orange County Line trains and nine 91 Line trains. On weekends, eight Orange County Line trains and four 91 Line trains serve this station. Whittier Transit was a local circulator bus service in the city of Whittier, California, which operated from 1985 to 2007 as an independent system. In 2007, it was merged into Norwalk Transit; local service in Whittier ended in 2011 during a series of service cuts. It was named after Rancho Los Cerritos, a local ranch in the 19th century. In turn the college was part of the inspiration for the renaming of the neighboring city of Dairy Valley to Cerritos.
