Northern Rivers Symphony Orchestra
The Northern Rivers Symphony Orchestra is an Australian orchestra based in Tweed Heads NSW, New South Wales. The orchestra is the premier orchestra for the Gold Coast and Northern Rivers region. It was created in 1991 by Barry Singh, who was the orchestra's artistic director and conductor and has featured on Australian Story on ABC Television. The orchestras current Chief Conductor is Marco Bellasi. Home of the Arts (HOTA), opened as the Keith Hunt Community Entertainment and Arts Centre in 1986 and subsequently renamed The Arts Centre Gold Coast (TAC) and Gold Coast Arts Centre, is a cultural precinct situated in Surfers Paradise, City of Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. The Empire Theatre is a heritage-listed theatre at 56 & 56A Neil Street, Toowoomba, Toowoomba Region, Queensland, Australia. It was added to the Queensland Heritage Register on May 31, 1994. The Queensland Performing Arts Centre (also known as QPAC) is part of the Queensland Cultural Centre and is located on the corner of Melbourne Street and Grey Street in Brisbane's South Bank, Queensland, South Bank precinct. Tweed Heads is a town in New South Wales. It is located on the Tweed River in north-eastern New South Wales, Australia, in Tweed Shire, next to the border with Queensland and adjacent to its "twin town" of Coolangatta, which is a suburb of the Gold Coast.
