Nina Hollein
Nina Hollein (9 February 1971, Vienna) is an Austrian author, architect, and fashion designer based in New York City. Life Hollein, the daughter of a designer and a classical philologist, grew up in Vienna and Linz. Her interest in architecture and design developed at an early age, inspired by her uncles Laurids Ortner and Manfred Ortner of the Austrian architect and artist group Haus-Rucker-Co. After her high school Matura, Hollein studied architecture at the TU Wien, Vienna University of Technology and graduated with a Master of Science degree. In 1996, she received a scholarship from the Austrian Federal Chancellery and moved to New York. While there, she worked in the offices of Peter Eisenman and Tod Williams Billie Tsien Architects. In 2001, she and her husband Max Hollein moved to Frankfurt. In Frankfurt, she joined the office of the architect and urban planner Albert Speer (born 1934), Albert Speer. Albert Speer (born 1934)
Albert Speer (; 29 July 1934 – 15 September 2017) was a German architect and urban planner. He was the son of Albert Speer (1905–1981), Adolf Hitler's chief architect before assuming the office of Minister of Armaments and War Production for Germany during World War II. His grandfather, Albert Friedrich Speer, was also an architect. Career Speer claimed that his decision to become an architect had nothing to do with his father. He considered urban planning to be his main area, rather than architecture. He won his first international prize in 1964, and then opened his own architect's office. He also worked in Saudi Arabia. In 1977, he became professor of urban planning at the University of Kaiserslautern in the state of Rheinland-Palatinate. His firm has had an office in Shanghai since 2001. He was a leading member of the French artistic movement of Nouveau réalisme founded in 1960 by art critic Pierre Restany.
