New Kent High School
New Kent High School is a public high school located in New Kent, Virginia, east of Richmond. Athletic teams compete in the Virginia High School League's AA Bay Rivers District in Region I. The school relocated to a new facility for the 2008–2009 school year. Before that, it occupied the location of the current New Kent Middle School, and before that, that of the historic high school. The school is well known as being a state powerhouse in wrestling – taking home the district title for the previous 10 years and securing the programs first state title in 2018. New Kent is a census-designated place (CDP) in and the county seat of New Kent County, Virginia, United States. The population as of the 2020 Census was 739. Maine Celtics
The Maine Celtics (formerly the Maine Red Claws) are an American professional basketball team in the NBA G League based in Portland, Maine, and are affiliated with the Boston Celtics. The Maine Celtics play their home games at the Portland Expo Building. The team debuted in the 2009–10 season as the Maine Red Claws and have since won three division titles. Jarell Christian is an American basketball coach and former professional player. In October 2022, he was promoted to Director of Basketball Player Development with the Maine Celtics. During the 2021-22 season, he was the head coach of the Maine Celtics in the NBA G League. He played college basketball at Emory & Henry College. Previously, he served as an assistant coach for the Oklahoma City Blue. He was hired by the Wizards in 2018 as head coach of their development team, the Capital City Go-Go, before being promoted to the Wizards' staff in 2019. Jamion Christian (born April 18, 1982) is an American college basketball coach, who was most recently the head coach of the George Washington Colonials men's basketball team. He previously was the head coach at Siena and Mount St. Mary's. Biography Christian was born and raised in Quinton, Virginia. As a shooting guard, he led New Kent High School to a Virginia High School League State Championship with a 26–0 record and earned the VHSL Group A State Player of the Year honors. Christian then became a shooting guard and a three-year captain for Mount St. Mary's under head coaches Jim Phelan and Milan Brown.
