Nõmme Kalju FC (women)
Nõmme Kalju FC (), commonly known as Nõmme Kalju, or simply as Kalju (Estonian: "rock" or "cliff"), is a professional football club based in Nõmme, Tallinn, that competes in the Meistriliiga, the top flight of Estonian football. The club's home ground is Hiiu Stadium. Founded in 1923, Nõmme Kalju first played in the Estonian top division from 1925 until 1927, but were dissolved in 1944 due to the Soviet occupation of Estonia. Re-established in 1997, the club has played in the Meistriliiga since the 2008 season and have not been relegated since. Kalju have won two Meistriliiga titles (2012 and 2018), two Estonian Cups ( 2014–15 and 2024–25), and one Estonian Supercup (2019). Hiiu Stadium
Hiiu Stadium () is a Association football, football stadium in Tallinn, Estonia. Opened in 1936, it is the home ground of Nõmme Kalju FC. The stadium is located about 8 km southwest of the city centre, in the district of Nõmme. The address of the stadium is Pidu tänav 11, Tallinn. Hiiu Stadium has been Nõmme Kalju's home since its opening in 1936 until the club's dissolution in 1944 due to Soviet occupation of Estonia, and again since the club's re-establishment in 1997. Uno Piir
Uno Piir (12 November 1929 – 4 May 2025) was an Estonian association football, football coach and player. He was the first manager of the Estonia national football team, Estonia national team after the Soviet occupation. In 1997, together with Anton Siht and Värner Lootsmann, he re-established the Nõmme Kalju FC, Nõmme Kalju football club and coached it until 2004. On 4 May 2025, Uno died aged 95. Dinaburg FC
Dinaburg FC was a Latvian Association football, football club, playing in the city of Daugavpils. In 2009 it merged with FC Daugava, FK Daugava. The club played at the Daugava Stadium (capacity 4,070). On October 5, 2009, Dinaburg was expelled from the Latvian Higher League, Virsliga and both the president and trainer were banned for life on suspicion of betting and match-fixing. 2009–10 UEFA Europa League
The 2009–10 UEFA Europa League was the first season of the UEFA Europa League, Europe's secondary club football tournament organised by UEFA. The competition was previously known as the UEFA Cup, which had been in existence for 38 years. Ingemar Teever
Ingemar Teever (born 24 February 1983) is an Estonian former professional footballer who last played as a forward for Estonian Meistriliiga club Levadia. Teever was the top goalscorer in the 2008 and the 2015 Meistriliiga seasons. Teever was named Meistriliiga Player of the Year in 2015. Club career At the age of 19, Teever started his professional career with TVMK, having previously played for lower division clubs Nõmme Kalju and M.C. Tallinn. There he won the 2005 Meistriliiga, Estonian Cup in 2003 and Estonian Supercup in 2005, before leaving the club in 2005. Öster On 1 December 2015, Teever joined the Swedish Allsvenskan club Öster. FC Kuressaare, commonly known as Kuressaare, is an Estonian professional football club based in Kuressaare, Saaremaa island. The club's home ground is Kuressaare linnastaadion. Founded on 14 March 1997, the club competes in the Meistriliiga, the top tier of Estonian football. JK Sillamäe Kalev gained automatic promotion to the Meistriliiga as FC Levadia II are the reserve team for Meistriliiga champions FC Levadia and therefore can not be promoted to the same league as its parent club. Getúlio Fredo
Getúlio Aurelio Fredo (born 22 September 1954) is a Brazilian-born football manager. Coaching career Fredo's most recent position was as the head coach of the Estonian football club Nõmme Kalju. He led the club to their first ever participation in a European competition when they lost against FC Dinaburg in the first qualifying round of the 2009–10 UEFA Europa League. Fredo's career in coaching has been a lengthy one. He worked with the group of coaches who led the Brazilian U-17 to their World Cup victory some years ago. He also spent many years coaching in Finland and Thailand. He also coached the Estonia national beach soccer team. In March 2021, he received a sexual harassment accusation, which became a major scandal in Estonia, fuelling movements to raise the age of consent from 14 to 16 years. The 2006 Esiliiga is the 16th season of the Esiliiga, second-highest Estonian league for association football clubs, since its establishment in 1992. FC Kuressaare gained automatic promotion to the Meistriliiga as FC Levadia II are the reserve team for Meistriliiga champions FC Levadia and therefore can not be promoted to the same league as its parent club. Esiliiga
The Esiliiga is the second division in the Estonian football league system. The Esiliiga is ranked below the Meistriliiga and above the Esiliiga B. As in most countries with low temperatures in winter time, the season starts in March and ends in November. The league features several reserve teams of Meistriliiga clubs. According to the rules set by the Estonian Football Association, reserve teams are ineligible for promotion to the Meistriliiga, but can play in the Estonian Cup. Competition format During the season, the teams play each of the other four times twice at home and twice away. This makes for a total of 36 games played each season. The teams gain three points for a win, one for a draw, and none for a defeat. Promotion and relegation between divisions is a central feature of the league. II Liiga
II liiga is the fourth level of football league competition in Estonia arranged by the Estonian Football Association. It consists of 28 teams, divided geographically into two divisions with 14 teams each in group North/East and South/West. Until 2013, it was the third level league. Competition During the season, teams play each opponent twice, once at home and once away, for 26 matches. At the end of the season, the winners of both divisions face each other in one final match to determine the champion of II liiga. As in most countries with low temperatures in winter time, the season starts around April and lasts until around the start of November. At the end of the season, the winners of both divisions may be promoted to the Esiliiga B, provided the clubs meet the licensing criteria of the Esiliiga B.
