Næstved Municipality ( is a '' kommune'' in the Region Sjælland on the island of Zealand in the south of Denmark Denmark is a Nordic countries, Nordic country in Northern Europe. On 1 January 2007, ''Kommunalreformen'' ("The Municipal Reform" of 2007) merged the Næstved municipality with existing Fladså, Fuglebjerg, Holmegaard, and Suså municipalities to form the new Næstved municipality, increasing the total population to more than 80,000. Municipalities Of Denmark
Denmark is divided into five regions of Denmark, regions, which contain 98 municipalities (, ; , ). The Capital Region of Denmark, Capital Region has 29 municipalities, Region of Southern Denmark, Southern Denmark 22, Central Denmark Region, Central Denmark 19, Region Zealand, Zealand 17 and North Denmark Region, North Denmark 11. Fladså
Fladså was a municipality ( Danish, '' kommune'') in Storstrøm County in south Denmark. The municipality covered an area of 133 km2, and had a total population of 7,581 (2005). Its last mayor was Hans R. Hansen, a member of the Venstre (Liberal Party) political party. The seat of its municipal council was at Mogenstrup. Neighboring municipalities were Rønnede to the east, Holmegaard to the north, Næstved to the west, and Præstø and Vordingborg to the south. Fakse Bay (''Fakse Bugt'') made up part of the municipality's eastern border, and Karrebæksminde Bay (''Karrebæksminde Bugt'' made up part of the municipality's western border. On 1 January 2007 Fladså municipality ceased to exist due to ''Kommunalreformen'' ("The Municipality Reform" of 2007).
