Nærøy () is a List of former municipalities of Norway, former municipality of Trøndelag Counties of Norway, county, Norway. The municipality existed from 1838 until its dissolution in 2020. It is now part of Nærøysund Municipality in the Namdalen Districts of Norway, region. Norway's smallest List of towns and cities in Norway, town, Kolvereid, was the administrative centre of the municipality. Some villages in Nærøy Municipality included Abelvær, Foldereid, Gravvika, Lund, Nærøy, Lund, Ottersøya, Salsbruket, Steine, Trøndelag, Steine, and Torstad. At the time of its dissolution in 2020, the municipality was the 96th largest by area out of the 422 municipalities in Norway. Kolvereid
Kolvereid is a town in Nærøysund Municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. The town of Kolvereid is located at the west end of the Kolvereidvågen bay, off of the inner part of the Foldafjord. The Norwegian County Road 770 runs through the town, connecting it to the nearby town of Rørvik to the west and to the village of Foldereid to the east. The town was the administrative centre of the old Nærøy Municipality from 1964 until 2020 when it was merged into Nærøysund Municipality. Before that, Kolvereid was the administrative centre of the old Kolvereid Municipality which existed from 1838 until 1964. Ottersøya
Ottersøya is a village in Nærøysund Municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. The village is located at the southwestern end of the Kvingra peninsula, just across the Nærøysundet from the town of Rørvik. In Ottersøya there are, among other things, grocery store, post office (Ottersøya has postcode 7940), hairdresser and petrol station. Important workplaces on Ottersøya besides trade and service are ''Nærøysund Kraftbetong A/S'', ''Noprec - Containerservice Ottersøya'' and ''Mekon AS''. Nord-Trøndelag (; "North Trøndelag") was a counties of Norway, county constituting the northern part of the present-day Trøndelag county in Norway. () was the name of a Norwegian self-governing municipality. The name was used from the establishment these municipalities in 1838 until the name fell out of use in 1863. The municipalities had their legal basis from two laws enacted on 14 January 1837. The laws established two types of ; one for cities () and one for rural districts ().
