Nuttlar–Frankenberg Railway
The Nuttlar–Frankenberg railway is a 62.3 km long line from Nuttlar on the Upper Ruhr Valley Railway in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia via Winterberg and Allendorf, Waldeck-Frankenberg, Allendorf (Eder) to Frankenberg, Hesse, Frankenberg (Eder) in the state of Hesse. History Construction The construction of the section from Nuttlar to Winterberg was authorised on 20 May 1898 by a law of the Prussian parliament. The Nuttlar (Westfalen)–Steinhelle section was opened on 1 May 1902. On the same day the first section of the Steinhelle–Medebach Light Railway () was opened. The continuation of the line from Steinhelle to Winterberg was opened on 1 October 1906. The route to connect with the Hessian rail network was already determined by this time. Numerous engineering structures were required between Winterberg and Bromskirchen, including three tunnels and a viaduct, with a grade of up to 2.5%. Allendorf, Waldeck-Frankenberg
Allendorf (Eder) () is a municipality which situated in the north west of Hesse, Germany. The municipality is within the Waldeck-Frankenberg district in a rural region called the upper Eder Valley. The Burgwald range is located west of Allendorf while the Breite Struth hills are in Allendorf's east. With regard to towns, Allendorf lies to the east of Frankenberg/Eder (12 km) and to the west of Battenberg (2.6 km) and Biedenkopf (21 km). In the north of Allendorf are Hallenberg (12 km), Winterberg (26 km), and Korbach (39 km). In its south is the university city Marburg (32 km). Korbach
Korbach (), officially the Hanseatic City of Korbach (German language, German: Hansestadt Korbach), is the district seat of Waldeck-Frankenberg in northern Hesse, Germany. Marburg Station
Marburg (Lahn) station is a through station at the 104.3 km mark of the Main-Weser Railway in the north-east of the city of Marburg in the German state of Hesse and is used daily by about 12,000 people. The station is classified by Deutsche Bahn (DB) as a category 3 station. History The station was completed with the construction of the Main-Weser Railway in 1850 and was built outside the built up area of the city on the other side of the Lahn. Since 1903, the Marburg tramway has ended at the station. Initially it was a horse-drawn tram, which was converted to electric operation in 1911. The Warburg–Sarnau railway is a 100.9 kilometre-long, single-track, partially disused secondary railway line in North Rhine-Westphalia and North Hesse. The middle section, Korbach–Frankenberg, Hesse, Frankenberg, is called the ''Untere Edertalbahn'' (Lower Eder Valley Railway) or the ''Nationalparkbahn'' (National Park railway) and the southern section, Frankenberg–Sarnau(–Marburg), is called the ''Burgwaldbahn'' (Burgwald railway).
