Nurlan Sairanuly Orazbayev (; born June 5, 1968) is a former Kazakh professional ice hockey player, who played for Avtomobilist Karagandy, Bulat Temirtau and Barys Astana. Forward (ice Hockey)
In ice hockey, a forward is a player, and a position on the ice, whose primary responsibility is to score and assist goals. Generally, the forwards try to stay in three different lanes of the ice from goal to goal. It is not mandatory, however, to stay in a lane. Staying in a lane aids in forming the common offensive strategy known as a triangle. One forward obtains the puck and then the forwards pass it between themselves making the goalie move side to side. This strategy opens up the net for scoring opportunities. This strategy allows for a constant flow of the play, attempting to maintain the control of play by one team in the offensive zone. The forwards can pass to the defence players playing at the Blue line (ice hockey), blue line, thus freeing up the play and allowing either a shot from the point (blue line position where the defence stands) or a pass back to the offence. The Kontinental Hockey League (KHL; ) is an international professional ice hockey league founded in 2008. Avtomobilist Karaganda () was an ice hockey team in Karaganda, Kazakhstan. They were active from 1966 to 1996 and from 1998 to 2000. History The club was founded in 1966 as Stroitel Karaganda () and played at first in the Vtoraya Liga, the third level of Soviet ice hockey. They won the Vtoraya Liga as Avtomobilist Karaganda in 1980, and were promoted to the Pervaya Liga. From 1992 to 1996, Karaganda participated in the International Hockey League, which featured teams from the Commonwealth of Independent States. In 1993, they took on their old name of Stroitel again, and dissolved due to financial difficulties in 1996.
