Nuestra Belleza México 2006
Nuestra Belleza México 2006, the 13th Nuestra Belleza México beauty pageant, was held at the Espacio Cultural Metropolitano of Tampico, Tamaulipas, Mexico on September 2, 2006. Thirty contestants of the Mexican Republic competed for the national title, which was won by Rosa Maria Ojeda from Sinaloa, who later competed in Miss Universe 2007 in Mexico where she was a Semifinalist in the Top 10. Ojeda was crowned by outgoing Nuestra Belleza México titleholder Priscila Perales. She was the second Sinaloan to win this title. The Nuestra Belleza Mundo México title was won by Carolina Morán from Colima, who later competed in Miss World 2007 in China where she was the 2nd Runner-up. Morán was crowned by Nuestra Belleza Mundo México 2004 Dafne Molina. She is the only Coliman and fourth winner of foreign descent (her grandfather is Chinese) to win this Title. Rosa María Ojeda
Rosa María Ojeda Cuen (born October 15, 1986 in Culiacán, Sinaloa) is a Mexican model and beauty pageant titleholder who won the title Miss Mexico 2006. She also represented Mexico at the 56th annual Miss Universe 2007 pageant held at the National Auditorium in Mexico City, Mexico. Biography Rosa María Ojeda Cuen is the youngest of five children. Her two oldest brothers died (merely three years after one another) when Ojeda was very young, and at 15 years of age, she was diagnosed thyroid cancer. After overcoming these events during her childhood, Ojeda competed in the national beauty pageant Nuestra Belleza México, held in Tampico, Tamaulipas on September 2, 2006, where she beat 30 other contestants to win the title, as well as obtain the right to represent her country in the 2007 Miss Universe pageant. Miss Universe 2007
Miss Universe 2007 was the 56th Miss Universe pageant, held at the Auditorio Nacional in Mexico City, Mexico on 28 May 2007. At the end of the event, Zuleyka Rivera of Puerto Rico crowned Riyo Mori of Japan as Miss Universe 2007. It was Japan's first victory in forty-eight years, and the second victory of the country in the pageant's history. Miss World 2005, the 55th edition of the Miss World pageant, was held on 10 December 2005 at the Crown of Beauty Theatre in Sanya, China. María Julia Mantilla of Peru crowned her successor Unnur Birna Vilhjálmsdóttir of Iceland. 102 contestants from all over the world competed for the crown. Miss World 2007 was the 57th edition of the Miss World pageant, held at the Crown of Beauty Theatre in Sanya, China, on December 1, 2007.
