Noël Dorion
Noël Dorion, (July 24, 1904 – March 9, 1980) was a Canadians, Canadian law professor, lawyer and politician. Dorion was Call to the bar, called to the bar in 1927 and was the founding president of the ''Jeune Barreau de Québec'' in 1934. He was the crown attorney who prosecuted Wilbert Coffin in 1954. The "Coffin affair", as it became known, was a contributing factor in the decision to abolish the death penalty in Canada as it became a widespread belief that Coffin was wrongly convicted and executed. Dorion entered politics in the 1945 Canadian federal election, 1945 federal election, running as an Independent politician, independent in Quebec East, but was unsuccessful. Dorion finished in second place behind Louis St. Laurent, and was the unofficial Conservative standard-bearer as the Electoral district (Canada), riding had no official Tory candidate. Bellechasse () was a federal electoral district (Canada), electoral district in Quebec, Canada. It was represented in the House of Commons of Canada from 1867, until the 1997 Canadian federal election, 1997 election, when it became Bellechasse—Etchemins—Montmagny—L'Islet. Charles-Napoléon Dorion, (13 August 1887 – 3 December 1978) was a Quebec lawyer and politician. He was born in Rivière-du-Loup, Quebec and admitted to the Quebec bar in July 1914. He practiced law in Quebec City with his brothers Frédéric Dorion and Noël Dorion as well as with Lucien Lacasse. Dorion was appointed King's Counsel in 1934.
