Now, Now, formerly known as Now, Now Every Children, is an American indie rock duo formed in Blaine, Minnesota and based in Minneapolis. The band consists of Cacie Dalager (vocals, guitar, keyboard) and Bradley Hale (drums, backing vocals). History Formation The band was formed in 2003. Classmates Cacie Dalager and Bradley Hale met in their high school marching band when they were both sixteen years old. They eventually began writing songs together, starting with an acoustic song dedicated to a college-bound friend. The band's name, according to Dalager, was an in-joke resulting from a typo in an online chat. The duo considered using the name for an EP title, but it stuck as the band name when they officially started the project. Blaine, Minnesota
Blaine is a suburban city in Anoka and Ramsey counties in Minnesota, United States. Once a rural town, Blaine's population has increased significantly in the last 60 years. For several years, Blaine led the Twin Cities metro region in new home construction. The population was 70,222 at the 2020 census. The city is mainly in Anoka County, and is part of the Minneapolis–Saint Paul metropolitan area. Interstate 35W, U.S. Highway 10, and Minnesota State Highway 65 are three of the main routes in the city. First Avenue (nightclub)
First Avenue and 7th St Entry are two historic music venues housed in the same landmark building in downtown Minneapolis. The nightclub sits on the corner of First Avenue North and 7th Street North, from which the venues get their names. The two are colloquially distinguished by locals as The Mainroom and The Entry. The building was constructed in 1937 as the Minneapolis depot of the Greyhound Lines bus system and operated for 31 years. Allan Fingerhut purchased the facility in 1970 and converted it into a nightclub. Christopher Ryan Walla (born November 2, 1975) is an American musician, record producer, and film music composer, best known for being a former guitarist and songwriter for the band Death Cab for Cutie. Musical career Early bands While at Bothell High School in the early 1990s, Walla started a program called Open Microphone with creative writing teacher Laura Drumheller, as a noon-time forum for the arts, which allowed any student to take the stage and perform. Walla regularly performed at these shows, as well as serving as MC. One performance by Walla included a song by Talking Heads. These early Open Microphone shows proved popular and continued for over twenty years, moving from Bothell High School to Inglemoor High School when teacher Drumheller transferred there. Fake Problems were a four-piece indie rock band from Naples, Florida. They released their first full-length album, '' How Far Our Bodies Go'', on Sabot Productions on April 27, 2007. Their second record, '' It's Great to Be Alive'', was released through Side One Dummy Records on February 17, 2009. Their third record '' Real Ghosts Caught On Tape'' was released September 21, 2010, also on Sideonedummy. The band broke up in 2014. Biography History and background Fake Problems was created by Chris Farren, Derek Perry, Casey Lee, and Sean Stevenson in 2005. Farren was in another band at the time, but he wanted to expand his creativity and write different music. Gold Motel is an American, Chicago-based project, featuring singer Greta Morgan of The Hush Sound. The band consists of Morgan (vocals, keys, songs), Eric Hehr (guitar, songs), Dan Duszynski (guitar, vocals, songs), and features Matt Minx (bass) and Adam Coldhouse (drums) on their studio releases. History After The Hush Sound went on hiatus, Morgan moved from Chicago to Los Angeles looking for inspiration. There, she soaked up the Southern California music scene, going to five or six concerts a week. Morgan began writing nostalgic, summery music inspired by her time in California, which would eventually be the songs for Gold Motel.
