Norwegian Football Cup
The Norwegian Football Cup () is the main knockout cup competition in Norwegian football. It is run by the Football Association of Norway and has been contested since 1902, making it the oldest football tournament in the country. The tournament is commonly known as ''Cupen'' ("The Cup"), NM or NM Cup (''NM Cupen''), an acronym formed from ''Norgesmesterskap'' (" Norwegian Championship"). These terms are used to describe both the men's and women's competitions. The equivalent competition for women's teams is the Norwegian Women's Football Cup. The Norwegian Football Cup is a national championship, meaning that while the Eliteserien may be the most prestigious competition to win, it is the winners of the Cup who are awarded the title "Norwegian football champions". The 2025 Norwegian Football Cup is the 119th season of the Norway, Norwegian annual knock-out association football, football tournament. It started on 26 March 2025. Oscar II (Oscar Fredrik; 21 January 1829 – 8 December 1907) was King of Sweden from 1872 until his death in 1907 and King of Norway from 1872 to 1905. Oscar was the son of Oscar I of Sweden, King Oscar I and Josephine of Leuchtenberg, Queen Josephine. He inherited the Swedish and Norwegian thrones when his brother died in 1872. Oscar II ruled during a time when both countries were undergoing a period of industrialization and rapid technological progress. His reign also saw the gradual decline of the Union of Sweden and Norway, which culminated in its Dissolution of the union between Norway and Sweden, dissolution in 1905. Tromsø Idrettslag () is a Norwegian professional Football club (association football), football club based in Tromsø. They play their home games at the Romssa Arena which has a seating capacity of 6,801. Tromsø play in the Eliteserien. Fotballklubben Bodø/Glimt (), also referred to as Bodø/Glimt or its former name Glimt, is a Norwegian professional football club from the town of Bodø in Bodø Municipality, Nordland county, Norway. The 1945 Norwegian Football Cup was the 40th season of the Norway, Norwegian annual knockout association football, football tournament. This was the first cup in five years, due to the World War II, Second World War. The tournament was open for all members of Football Association of Norway, NFF, except those from Northern Norway. 1940 Norwegian Football Cup
The 1940 Norwegian Football Cup was the 39th season of the Norwegian annual knockout football tournament. This was the last cup until the end of Second World War, due to a sports strike against competition organized by Vidkun Quisling. The tournament was open for all members of NFF, except those from Northern Norway. The final was played at Ullevaal Stadion in Oslo on 13 October 1940, and was contested by the last year's losing finalist Skeid and the four-time former winners Fredrikstad. Fredrikstad secured their fifth title with a 3–0 win in the final. Sarpsborg were the defending champions, but were eliminated by Fredrikstad in the semifinal. The 1904 Norwegian Football Cup was the third edition of a Norwegian annual knockout football tournament founded in 1902. All NFF member clubs could contest in this edition; four did so. Oslo ( or ; ) is the capital and most populous city of Norway. It constitutes both a county and a municipality.
