Bandy
Bandy is a winter sport and ball sport played by two team sport, teams wearing Ice skates#Bandy skates, ice skates on a large ice surface (either indoors or outdoors) while using sticks to direct a ball into the opposing team's goal. The playing surface, called a bandy field or bandy rink, is a sheet of ice which measures by , about the size of a football pitch. The field is considerably larger than the ice rinks commonly used for ice hockey. The sport has a common background with association football, ice hockey, shinty, and field hockey. Mjøndalen IF
Mjøndalen IF is a Norwegian sports club located in Mjøndalen, Buskerud, Norway. Of the different athletic endeavours that the club supports, it may be best known in Norway for its bandy national championship teams and internationally for its association football national championship teams that have competed in UEFA championships. Founded in 1910, it has sections for association football, bandy, baseball, cycling, gymnastics, handball, judo and skiing. The club formerly had a section for athletics. The Norwegian Bandy Premier League is the top level of bandy in Norway. National bandy champions have been named yearly since 1912, but the league was only founded in 1932. The league consists of eight teams. After the regular league, the leading teams goes to a play-off which decides what team will be the Norwegian champion. Since 1976, the winner of the league is formally awarded the title ''league champion'' (Norwegian: ''seriemester''), a title which however is not counted to be worth as much as the national championship title. Ullevål Idrettslag is a Norway, Norwegian sports club from Oslo. The club currently has sections for bandy and gymnastics. It was founded on 5 July 1920 with the name ''Kvik''. It was founded as an association football club, and expanded with tennis, gymnastics, track and field, Nordic skiing and alpine skiing before 1929. In 1934 bandy was added.
