North Little Rock, Arkansas
North Little Rock (often abbreviated "NLR") is a city in Pulaski County, Arkansas, United States. Located on the north side of the Arkansas River, it is the Twin cities, twin city of Little Rock, Arkansas, Little Rock. In the late nineteenth century, it was annexed by Little Rock for a period, but regained its independence in the early 20th century. The population was 64,591 at the 2020 United States census, 2020 Census, making it the List of municipalities in Arkansas, seventh-most populous city in Arkansas. North Little Rock City Hall
North Little Rock City Hall is located at 300 Main Street in North Little Rock, Arkansas. It is a Classical Revival two-story building, with an exterior of stone with terra cotta trim. Prominent features of its street-facing facades (on Main and 3rd Streets) are massive engaged two-story fluted Ionic columns. It was built in 1914–15, and is based on the design of a bank building seen by Mayor J.P. Faucette in St. Louis, Missouri. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975. Burns Park is a park in North Little Rock, Arkansas. The park features two golf courses, Funland Amusement Park (Little Rock, Arkansas), Funland Amusement Park, sports facilities and a camping area. History About 6,000 acres of land in North Little Rock, Arkansas (at the time called Argenta) were purchased by the United States government between 1900 and 1915. It was used as a training camp for soldiers during World War I called Robinson Maneuver Training Center, Camp Pike. Fox holes and other remnants of the camp can still be found along the trails and other areas of the park. In 1937, Camp Pike was renamed Camp Robinson and expanded to 48,188 acres during World War II. Camp Robinson was used for basic training and housing prisoners of war. Simmons Bank Arena (previously Verizon Arena and Alltel Arena) is an 18,000-seat multi-purpose arena in North Little Rock, Arkansas, directly across the Arkansas River from downtown Little Rock.
