Normalman
''normalman'' is a limited series of American comic books created by Jim Valentino. It began in November 1983 as a four-page story in '' Cerebus'' #56 (Nov. 1983) before being launched as a full-color 12-issue series which was published by Aardvark-Vanaheim before moving to Renegade Press. There was also a crossover with '' Journey''. The story of normalman concluded in ''normalman 3D Annual #1'' (Renegade Press). The series spoofed the comics of many comic book companies, including DC, Marvel, EC and Harvey, as well as doing parodies of '' The Spirit'', ''Elfquest'', ''Asterix'', ''Star Wars'', and '' The Wizard of Oz''. Jim Valentino
Jim Valentino (born October 28, 1952) is an American writer, penciler, editor and publisher of comic books, best known for his 1990–1992 work on '' Guardians of the Galaxy'' for Marvel Comics, and for co-founding Image Comics, a company publishing creator-owned comics. At Image Comics, Valentino produced books such as the superhero vigilante series '' ShadowHawk'', and the 1997 semi-autobiographical black and white book '' A Touch of Silver''. Valentino also served as publisher of Image from 1999 to 2003, during which he oversaw the diversification of Image's publication through his discovery of creators such as Robert Kirkman, who co-created the critically and commercially successful comic book '' The Walking Dead''. Spirit (comics Character)
The Spirit is a fictional masked crimefighter appearing in American comic books. Created by cartoonist Will Eisner, he first appeared as the main feature of a tabloid (paper size), tabloid-sized comic book insert distributed in the Sunday edition of Register and Tribune Syndicate newspapers. Popularly referred to as "The Spirit Section", the insert ran from June 2, 1940 to October 5, 1952. The Spirit is the alias of Denny Colt, a private investigator and criminologist based in the fictional Central City, who falls into suspended animation while trying to apprehend the mad scientist Dr. Cobra. Jor-El is a character appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. Created by writer Jerry Siegel and artist Joe Shuster, Jor-El first appeared in the Superman (comic strip), ''Superman'' newspaper comic strip in 1939. Jor-El is Superman's biological father, the husband of Lara (character), Lara, and a leading scientist on the planet Krypton (comics), Krypton before its destruction. He foresees his planet's fate but is unable to convince his colleagues in time to rescue most of Krypton's inhabitants. Jor-El is able to save his infant son Kal-El (Superman) by launching him towards Earth in a homemade spaceship just moments before Krypton explodes. The ruby slippers are a pair of magical shoes worn by Dorothy Gale as played by Judy Garland in the 1939 Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer musical film '' The Wizard of Oz''. Because of their iconic stature, they are as of December 2024 the most valuable items of film memorabilia in the world. Several pairs were made for the film, though the exact number is unknown. Five pairs are known to have survived; one pair was stolen from a museum in 2005 and recovered in 2018. In L. Mighty Mouse is an American animated character created by the Terrytoons studio for 20th Century Fox. He is an anthropomorphic superhero mouse, originally called Super Mouse, and made his debut in the 1942 short ''The Mouse of Tomorrow''.
