Norbert Brodine
Nobert Brodine (December 16, 1896 – February 28, 1970), also credited as Norbert F. Brodin and Norbert Brodin, was an American film cinematographer. The Saint Joseph, Missouri-born cameraman worked on over 100 films in his career before retiring from film making in 1953, at which time he worked exclusively in television until 1960. Career Brodine began his cameraman career working in a camera shop and later building on that experience in the Army Signal Corps, as an army photographer during World War I. After studying at Columbia University, he began working as a still photographer in Hollywood before moving to motion pictures in 1919. He began working exclusively for Hal Roach Studios in 1937 and then moved on to 20th Century Fox in 1943. Laurel and Hardy were a British-American double act, comedy duo during the early Classical Hollywood cinema, Classical Hollywood era of American cinema, consisting of Englishman Stan Laurel (1890–1965) and American Oliver Hardy (1892–1957). Starting their career as a duo in the silent film era, they later successfully transitioned to "sound film, talkies".
