Nokia 2110
The Nokia 2110 is a cellular phone made by the Finnish telecommunications firm Nokia, first announced and released in January 1994. It is the first Nokia phone with the famous Nokia tune ringtone. The phone can send and receive SMS messages; and lists ten outgoing calls, ten incoming calls and ten missed calls. At the time of the phone's release, it was smaller than others of its price and had a bigger display, so it became very popular. It also features a "revolutionary" new user interface featuring with two dynamic softkeys, which would later lead to the development of the Navi-key on its successor, the Nokia 6110, as well as the Series 20 interface. A later version, the Nokia 2110i, released in 1996, comes with more memory and a protruding antenna knob. The Nokia 9000 Communicator mobile device is the first product in Nokia's Communicator series, announced at CeBIT 1996 and introduced into the market on five months later, 15 August 1996. The HP 200LX Palmtop PC (F1060A, F1061A, F1216A), also known as project ''Felix'', is a personal digital assistant introduced by Hewlett-Packard in August 1994. It was often called a Palmtop PC, and it was notable that it was, with some minor exceptions, a DOS-compatible computer in a palmtop format, complete with a monochrome graphic display, QWERTY keyboard, serial port, and PCMCIA card, PCMCIA expansion slot. The Radio Telephone Network C (German: Funktelefonnetz-C, abbreviated as C-Netz), was a 1G, first generation analog signal, analog cellular phone system deployed and operated in Germany (at first West Germany) by Telekom Deutschland, DeTeMobil (formerly of Deutsche Bundespost Telekom, currently Deutsche Telekom). It utilized the C-450 standard, originally developed by Siemens, Siemens AG, and was the third and last update of a series of analog mobile phone systems used primarily within Germany, superseding the B-Netz and the A-Netz before it. Digital AMPS (D-AMPS), most often referred to as TDMA, is a second-generation ( 2G) cellular phone system that was once prevalent throughout the Americas, particularly in the United States and Canada since the first commercial network was deployed in 1993. Former large D-AMPS networks included those of AT&T and Rogers Wireless. The name TDMA is based on the abbreviation for time-division multiple access, a common multiple access technique which is used in most 2G standards, including GSM. D-AMPS competed against GSM and systems based on code-division multiple access (CDMA). It is now considered end-of-life, as existing networks have shut and been replaced by GSM/GPRS or CDMA2000 technologies.
