Nnegest Likké
Nnegest Likké is an American film director, screenwriter and producer from Oakland. Born in the Bay Area and raised in Oakland and San Francisco, she is the daughter of an African-American Civil Rights Activists and an Ethiopian freedom fighter. Most of her work explores themes of cross-cultural relationships between Americans and Africans, and she is a pioneer of the blended-culture genre. Specializing in comedy, romance, drama and travel adventure, Nnegest Likké's films are thought-provoking impact-films that examine complex issues in society and culture. Her film awards include Best Diaspora Film at the 2016 Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) for " Ben and Ara " which she directed. Her 2019 international romantic drama, ''Everything But A Man'' won the Audience Choice Award at the Pan African Film Festival. Nevada Women's Film Festival
Nevada Women's Film Festival is an annual film festival in Las Vegas, Nevada. History College of Southern Nevada film professor Nikki Corda founded the festival in 2015. In its inaugural year, 730 films from over 70 countries were submitted and 35 were selected, and the event was only for one day. The festival held most screening events at the Origen Museum at Springs Preserve. Corda said the festival uses the Bechdel test when selecting narrative films. In 2019, the festival screened 45 films from 10 countries. In 2020, it went virtual because of the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2021, the festival screened 58 films from 20 countries and featured live stream and in person events. In 2023, over 100 films from 22 countries were selected. All Lights India International Film festival (ALIIFF) is an annual film festival of India conducted in Hyderabad. It is usually conducted in December every year. The 4th edition was held from Dec 1-4, 2018 at PVR Inorbit Mall, Hyderabad. Popular Malayalam film actor and national award-winning director Balachandra Menon was the festival director of the 2018 edition.
