Nina Haver-Løseth
Nina Haver-Løseth (born 27 February 1989) is a retired Norwegian World Cup alpine ski racer and specializes in the technical events of slalom and giant slalom. Haver-Løseth made her World Cup debut in February 2006, and her first podium came in a slalom race at Zagreb in January 2015. In January 2016, she gained her first World Cup win in a slalom at Santa Caterina, becoming the first Norwegian woman to win a World Cup slalom since Trine Bakke almost exactly sixteen years earlier. At the 2007 World Championships in Sweden at Åre, Haver-Løseth was the top Norwegian female, with 30th in the giant slalom and tenth in the slalom. Slalom Skiing
Slalom is an alpine skiing and alpine snowboarding discipline, involving skiing between poles or gates. These are spaced more closely than those in giant slalom, super-G, super giant slalom and Downhill (ski competition), downhill, necessitating quicker and shorter turns. 2019–20 FIS Alpine Ski World Cup
The International Ski Federation (FIS) Alpine Ski World Cup, the premier circuit for alpine skiing competition, began in January 1967, and the season marked the 54th consecutive year for the FIS World Cup. As it had every year since 2006 (when the Sölden races were cancelled by a snowstorm), the season began in Sölden, Austria in October. The season was supposed to end with the World Cup finals in March, which were to be held in Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy for the first time since they began in 1993, but the finals were cancelled due to the COVID-19 outbreak in Italy. As part of an effort to control the expansion of the World Cup circuit while fighting increased specialization, the city events were dropped this season, to be replaced by more parallel events at regular venues, while the Alpine combined was expanded. Snow Queen () is a FIS Alpine Ski World Cup, World Cup Alpine skiing, alpine ski race held in the hills of Zagreb, Croatia. The men's and women's Slalom skiing, slalom races take place on the Medvednica mountaintop Sljeme, just north of Zagreb, usually in early January. Alpine skiing has been contested at every Winter Olympics since 1936, when a combined event was held in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany. From 1948 to 1980, the Winter Olympics also served as the World Championships in Olympic years, with separate competitions held in even-numbered non-Olympic years. During this period, the Olympic medalists received an additional medal of the same metal from the International Ski Federation (FIS). The giant slalom was introduced at the 1950 World Championships and at the Olympics in 1952; both programs dropped the combined event, but it returned in 1954 at the World Championships as a "paper" race, using the results of the slalom, giant slalom, and downhill.
