Nilphamari District () is a district in Northern Bangladesh. It is a part of Rangpur Division. It is about 400 kilometers to the northwest of the capital Dhaka. It has an area of . Nilphamari is bounded by Rangpur and Lalmonirhat in east, Rangpur and Dinajpur in south, Dinajpur and Panchagarh in west, Cooch Behar of India in north. Lalmonirhat District
Lalmonirhat District () is a District, situated at the northern border of Bangladesh. It is a part of the Rangpur Division. Lalmonirhat mahakuma was established as a district on 1 February 1984. To the north of Lalmonirhat lie Cooch Behar and Jalpaiguri districts of West Bengal; to the south lies Rangpur, to the east lie Kurigram and Cooch Behar; and to the west of lie Rangpur and Nilphamari District. The international border line of Lalmonirhat district is 281.6 km long. Tebhaga Movement
The Tebhaga movement (1946–1947) was significant peasant agitation, initiated in Bengal by the All India Kisan Sabha of peasant front of the Communist Party of India. History At that time, landlords required tenant farmers and sharecroppers to provide half of the crops to the landlords. The demand of the ''Tebhaga'' (sharing by thirds) movement was to reduce the landlord share to one third. In many areas the agitations turned violent, and landlords fled, leaving parts of the countryside in the hands of Kisan Sabha. In 1946 sharecroppers began to assert that they would pay only one-third and that before division the crop would stay in their godowns and not that of the Jotedars. The sharecroppers were encouraged by the fact that the Bengal Land Revenue Commission had already made this recommendation in its report to the government. Domar () is an upazila of Nilphamari District in the Division of Rangpur, Bangladesh. Geography Domar is located at . It has 58,020 households and total area 216.36 km2. Three rivers, namely Buri Tista, Shalki and Deonai are flowing through the upazila. Demographics According to the 2011 Census of Bangladesh, Domar Upazila had 58,020 households and a population of 249,429. 64,048 (25.68%) were under 10 years of age. Ichamati River () (also spelt Ichhamati), is a trans-boundary river which flows through India and Bangladesh and also forms part of the boundary between the two countries. The river is facing siltation leading to thin flow of water in the dry season and floods in the rainy season.
