Rukometni Klub Podravka Koprivnica is a Croatian women's handball club from Koprivnica. It is the most successful club in Croatian women's handball since formation of the league in 1992. The team currently competes in the Croatia women's first handball league. They have a fan club called Red Roosters formed in 2002. History The club was established in 1955 under the name Ivo Marinković and played its first friendly match in December against Grafičar Bjelovar. First official game was played in April 1956 against Slavija Čakovec. In 1956 team was renamed to RK Partizan. In seasons 1960/1961 and 1962/1963 Partizan became amateur champion of SR Croatia. Kristianstad Handbollsklubb is a Swedish women's handball club from Kristianstad. The club was founded on 15 June 2005, when IFK Ungdom parted ways with IFK Kristianstad. History The club was first promoted to the Allsvenskan in 2013. In 2014 they finished second, but missed promotion to the top flight after losing the playoff against BK Heid. Handball
Handball (also known as team handball, European handball, Olympic handball or indoor handball) is a team sport in which two teams of seven players each (six outcourt players and a goalkeeper) pass a ball using their hands with the aim of throwing it into the goal of the opposing team. A standard match consists of two periods of 30 minutes, and the team that scores more goals wins. Modern handball is played on a court of , with a goal in the middle of each end. The goals are surrounded by a zone where only the defending goalkeeper is allowed; goals must be scored by throwing the ball from outside the zone or while "diving" into it. The 2016 European Women's Handball Championship was held in Sweden from 4 to 18 December 2016.
