Nikol Płosaj
Nikol Płosaj (born 22 May 1996) is a Polish road and track cyclist, representing Poland at international competitions. As a junior, she competed at the 2013 UCI Road World Championships in the women's junior road race and at the 2014 UCI Road World Championships in the women's junior road race. At the 2016 World University Cycling Championship she won the silver medal in both the road race and criterium. Track Cycling
Track cycling is a Cycle sport, bicycle racing sport usually held on specially built banked tracks or velodromes using purpose-designed track bicycles. History Track cycling has been around since at least 1870. When track cycling was in its infancy, it was held on velodromes similar to the ones used today. These velodromes consisted of two straights and slightly banked turns, though they varied more in length and material than the modern 250 m track. One appeal of indoor track racing was that spectators could be easily controlled, and hence an entrance fee could be charged, making track racing a lucrative sport. Early track races attracted crowds of up to 2,000 people. Indoor tracks also enabled year-round cycling for the first time. The main early centers for track racing in Britain were Birmingham, Sheffield, Liverpool, Manchester and London. 2013 UCI Road World Championships
The 2013 UCI Road World Championships took place in Tuscany, Italy, between 22 and 29 September 2013. The Championships consisted of 12 events for elite, under-23 and junior cyclists. It was the 86th Road World Championships, the 13th in Italy and the first time that the event took place in Tuscany. The different events finished near the Nelson Mandela Forum in Florence. Host cities for the starts were Florence, Pistoia, Lucca and Montecatini Terme. Marketing Tickets for crucial points of the course in Florence and Fiesole could be bought in advance. Ticket prices ranged from 20 Euro to 100 Euro for seating near the finish line of the men's road race. The UCI Road World Championships – Women's junior road race, Women's junior road race of the 2014 UCI Road World Championships took place in and around Ponferrada, Spain on 26 September 2014. The course of the race was with the start and finish in Ponferrada. In a sprint finish of some eighteen riders, defending champion Amalie Dideriksen of Denmark was able to retain her title, repeating the feat of Great Britain pair Nicole Cooke in 2000 and 2001, and Lucy Garner in 2011 and 2012. Dideriksen out-sprinted Italy's Sofia Bertizzolo, the European champion, for the gold medal, with Agnieszka Skalniak of Poland taking the bronze medal.
