Nicanor Duarte
Óscar Nicanor Duarte Frutos (born 11 October 1956) is a Paraguayan lawyer, journalist and politician who served as the 47th President of Paraguay from 2003 to 2008. A member of the Colorado Party, he became the central figure of Paraguayan politics during his presidency. Born into a lower class rural family, Duarte pursued a career in law and later journalism, becoming a radio sports commentator and columnist. Nicanor Zabaleta (January 7, 1907 – April 1, 1993) was a Spanish harpist. Zabaleta was born in San Sebastián, Spain, on January 7, 1907. In 1914 his father, an amateur musician, bought him a harp in an antique shop. He soon began taking lessons from Vincenta Tormo de Calvo (Madrid Conservatory faculty) and Luisa Menarguez. In 1925 he began studies in Paris, where his teachers were Marcel Tournier and Jacqueline Borot. In 1926, in Paris, he made his own official concert debut. Nicanor Espina Yñiguez (November 6, 1915 – April 13, 2007) was a Filipino politician and speaker of the Regular Batasang Pambansa from 1984 to 1986. Considered the "Father of Southern Leyte", he authored the law that created the province of Southern Leyte. Early life and education Yñiguez finished his Associate in Arts degree from Silliman University in 1935. Later, he graduated from the University of the Philippines, where he joined the Upsilon Sigma Phi fraternity with Ferdinand Marcos and Jolly Bugarin in 1937. Nicanor Segundo Parra Sandoval (5 September 1914 – 23 January 2018) was a Chilean physicist and poet. He has been considered one of the most influential Spanish-language Chilean poets of the 20th century. Nicanor Costa Méndez (October 30, 1922 – August 3, 1992) was an Argentine diplomat. Costa Méndez was born into a privileged background in Buenos Aires, in 1922. He attended the University of Buenos Aires, graduating with a Law Degree in 1943. He went on to receive his ''juris doctor'' and opened a law practice.
