Nihat Akdoğan
Nihat Akdoğan (born 9 March 1980, Hakkâri, Turkey) is a Turkish politician of Kurdish descent. He was a politician of the Democratic Society Party (DTP) and a member of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey for the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP). Education Akdoğan was born in Hakkari, where he attended high school. Later he graduated from Anadolu University in Eskişehir in Public Administration Political career He was involved in the DTP. In the parliamentary elections of June and the snap election in November 2015 he was elected as an MP representing the HDP for Hakkari. He was arrested on the 7 November 2016 in Hakkari, and was transferred to the Silivri prison in Istanbul where he was held in solitary confinement. His arrest caused some controversy as Deputy Prime Minister Numan Kurtulmuş reported his "capture" at the entrance of Hakkari, while Akdoğan responded that he was arrested in the city centre, which was about 80 km from the location he shall have ... The Grand National Assembly of Turkey ( ), usually referred to simply as the GNAT or TBMM, also referred to as , in Turkish, is the Unicameralism, unicameral Turkey, Turkish legislature. Sultanbeyli () is a municipality and district of Istanbul Province, Turkey. Its area is 29 km2, and its population is 358,201 (2022). It is located inland on the Asian side ( Anadolu Yakasi) of the city. The mayor is Ali Tombaş of the Justice and Development Party. The Turkish local elections of 2019 were held on Sunday 31 March 2019 throughout the 81 provinces of Turkey. A total of 30 metropolitan and 1,351 district municipal mayors, alongside 1,251 provincial and 20,500 municipal councillors were elected, in addition to numerous local non-partisan positions such as neighbourhood representatives ( muhtars) and elderly people's councils. 2018 Turkish Parliamentary Election
Parliamentary elections were held in Turkey on 24 June 2018 as part of general elections, with presidential elections taking place on the same day. Originally scheduled for 27 October 2019, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan called snap elections on 18 April after months of speculation. With the passage of a series of constitutional amendments in the 2017 referendum, the number of MPs will be increased from the previous 550 to 600. These representatives will be elected by the constituents of the 87 electoral districts of Turkey by party-list proportional representation.
