Nicolás Vives
Nicolás Ernesto Vives Coffigny (born 24 April 1970), more commonly known as Nicolás Vives, is a Cuban former volleyball player and three-time Olympian. He played with the Cuba men's national volleyball team, Cuban men's national volleyball team in the Volleyball at the 1992 Summer Olympics – Men's tournament, 1992, Volleyball at the 1996 Summer Olympics – Men's tournament, 1996, and Volleyball at the 2000 Summer Olympics – Men's tournament, 2000 Summer Olympics. He also helped Cuba win the bronze medal at the 1995 Pan American Games in Mar del Plata. Cienfuegos, Cuba
Cienfuegos (), capital of Cienfuegos Province, is a city on the southern coast of Cuba. It is located about from Havana and has a population of 178,368 in 2022. Since the late 1960s, Cienfuegos has become one of Cuba's main industrial centers, especially in the energy and sugar sectors. The city is dubbed ''La Perla del Sur'' (Pearl of the South). Despite being known as an industrial city of factories and various nuclear/electrical plants, and the name ''Cienfuegos'' literally translating to "one hundred fires" (''cien'', "one hundred"; ''fuegos'', "fires"), the city actually takes its name from the surname of Asturian-born José Cienfuegos Jovellanos, Captain General of Cuba (1816–19). The men's tournament in volleyball at the 2000 Summer Olympics was the 10th edition of the event at the Summer Olympics, organized by the world's governing body, the FIVB in conjunction with the IOC. It was held in Sydney, Australia from 17 September to 1 October 2000.
