Nicolás Gabriel Sánchez (born 4 February 1986) is an Argentine former professional footballer who played as a centre-back and manager. He is the current assistant manager of Liga MX club Monterrey. Career Born in the Mataderos neighborhood of Buenos Aires, Sánchez began playing football as a midfielder in Boca Juniors' youth system. He became a professional with Nueva Chicago, with whom he made his debut in the 2003–04 Argentine Primera División, on 26 June 2004 against Independente. Nueva Chicago was relegated soon after, and Sánchez continued to be part of the club's first team during the next two seasons in the Primera B Nacional. In early 2006, Nueva Chicago's manager Rodolfo Motta converted Sánchez to a centre back following an injury to the club's regular defender, and within six months the club was promoted to the Primera División for the 2006–07 season. The CONCACAF Champions Cup, formerly known as CONCACAF Champions League (2008–2023), is an international association football competition organized by CONCACAF as its top continental tournament for clubs from North America, Central America, and the Caribbean. 2019–20 Copa MX
The 2019–20 Copa MX was the 82nd staging of the Copa MX, the 54th staging in the professional era and the fifteenth tournament played since the 1996–97 edition. The tournament started on 30 July 2019 and ended on 4 November 2020. It marked the first year since it was restored in 2012 that only one tournament will be played in the Mexican football year. In previous years, two tournaments (Apertura and Clausura) were played throughout the year. América were the defending champions after they defeated Juárez 0–1 in the Clausura 2019 final. The Apertura 2017 Copa MX (officially the Apertura 2017 Copa Corona MX for sponsorship reasons) was the 78th staging of the Copa MX, the 50th staging in the professional era and is the eleventh tournament played since the 1996–97 edition. This tournament began on 25 July 2017 and was originally scheduled to end on 1 November 2017. Due to the 2017 Puebla earthquake, the tournament was postponed in the Round of 16 phase, pushing the end of the tournament to 21 December 2017. The final was held at Estadio BBVA Bancomer in the Monterrey suburb of Guadalupe with the home team Monterrey defeating Pachuca 1–0 to win their second title. Copa MX, also known as Copa Corona MX for sponsorship reasons, was an association football competition in Mexico and the domestic cup tournament for clubs at the highest and second levels of Mexican football league system. Formerly known as Copa México (1942–1963, 1970–1997) and also as Copa Presidente (1963–1970), the first season of the professional era was held in 1942–43. The cup tournament was not held in several years (1976–1988, 1992–1994, 1997–2012) and currently the competition has been paused since the 2019–20 edition. The 2019–20 Liga MX season (known as the Liga BBVA MX for sponsorship reasons) was the 73rd professional season of the top-flight football league in Mexico. The season was divided into two championships—the #Torneo Apertura, Torneo Apertura and the #Torneo Clausura, Torneo Clausura—each in an identical format and each contested by the same nineteen teams. The 2014 Torneo de Transición or Torneo Doctor Ramón Carrillo was the 124th season of top-flight professional football in Argentina. The season was scheduled to start on August 1, 2014 but was postponed after the death of Julio Grondona, president of the AFA on July 30. Finally, it began on August 8, 2014 and ended on December 14, 2014. Originally the last match of the tournament was scheduled on December 7 but as River Plate played the finals of the 2014 Copa Sudamericana the matches Racing-Godoy Cruz and River Plate-Quilmes were played on December 14. The Apertura 2007 saw much success for the smaller teams in Argentine football. The eventual champions Lanús won the title for the first time in their history, the first maiden champions since Argentinos Juniors in 1984. Second place went to Tigre, a club playing their first season in the Argentine Primera since 1980 and making their best finish ever in the top flight. Third place went to Banfield, completing an extremely unlikely top three. Diego Martín Cocca (born 11 February 1972) is an Argentine professional football manager and former player who played as a right-back. He is the current manager of Talleres. Playing career Club Cocca started his career with River Plate in 1990. He was part of the squad that won the Apertura 1991 title. Subsequently, the defender had spells with Deportivo Español and Ferro Carril Oeste in the Argentine Primera División, before joining Lleida in Spain for the 1996–97 season.
