Nicolás Lúcar
Jorge Arturo Nicolás Lúcar de la Portilla has been a Peruvian journalist since the 1980s. In 1991 he started his first investigative news program in América Televisión called ''"La revista dominical"'' roughly translated in English as ''"The Sunday report"'', it featured almost the same format as used in the long-running CBS News Sunday newsmagazine 60 Minutes. The show at the time was considered one of the most outstanding newsprograms, and it used to be on the top of the ratings during almost all the 1990s. The program lasted until 1999 when low ratings pushed América Televisión executives to mark the end of the show. At the end of the Fujimori era in Peru, in the early 2000s, Lúcar's career was highly discredited, after he showed in a new Sunday program called ''Tiempo Nuevo'' (translated ''"A New Time"'') a videotape where he interviewed a supposed agent associated to Vladimiro Montesinos who in some way claimed to be connected to the newly interim President elected i ... Valentín Paniagua
Valentín Toribio Demetrio Agustin Paniagua Corazao (23 September 1936 – 16 October 2006) was a Peruvian lawyer and politician who briefly served as 55th President of Peru from 2000 to 2001. Elected President of Congress on 16 November 2000, he ascended to the presidency as incumbent Alberto Fujimori and both his Vice Presidents resigned by 22 November 2000. Due to Fujimori shortening his presidential term in order to expire on 28 July 2001, Paniagua's main task was to oversee the new elections. Paniagua was a longtime member of Popular Action, serving as Secretary General and Party President. Early life and education Paniagua's father was born in Bolivia but lived most of his life in Peru. Bill Kurtis
Bill Kurtis (born William Horton Kuretich; September 21, 1940) is a retired American television journalist, television producer, narrator, and news anchor. Kurtis was studying to become a lawyer in the 1960s, when he was asked to fill in on a temporary news assignment at WIBW-TV in Topeka, Kansas. His reporting on a devastating tornado outbreak led to a position as on-air news reporter and, later, a successful career as a news anchor in Chicago. Jaime Bayly Letts (born February 19, 1965) is a Peruvian writer, journalist, and television personality. He has won an Emmy Award and two of his books have been adapted into international movies. He also won the Premio Herralde in 1997 for his novel ''La Noche es Virgen'', a major literary award in the world of Spanish literature that has been granted to writers such as Roberto Bolaño, Mariana Enriquez, and Enrique Vila-Matas. The Normandy landings were the landing operations and associated airborne operations on 6 June 1944 of the Allied invasion of Normandy in Operation Overlord during the Second World War. ATV (known as Andina de Televisión) is a Peruvian television network founded in 1959 and relaunched in 1983. The network is the flagship property of Grupo ATV, one of Peru's largest media and broadcasting companies.
