Nicolás Franco (naturalist)
Nicolás Franco y Pascual de Pobil (born 22 October 1937) is a Spanish naturalist and economist who was President of the International Council for Game and Wildlife Conservation between 1993 and 1999. He is a nephew of Francisco Franco as the only son of his older brother, Nicolás Franco. Biography Nicolás Franco was born in 1937 in Rome during his father's time as ambassador of Spain in Italy. His father was Nicolás Franco y Bahamonde, the eldest child of Nicolás Franco y Salgado-Aráujo and María del Pilar Bahamonde y Pardo de Andrade, and was a brother of Francisco Franco, who ruled Spain from 1939 to 1975. His mother was María Isabel Pascual de Pobil y Ravello. A close friend of Juan Carlos I during his exile in Estoril, he was sent to study in England at Downside School, a Roman Catholic boarding school in Stratton-on-the-Fosse, where he stayed from 1953 to 1954. International Council For Game And Wildlife Conservation (CIC)
The International Council for Game and Wildlife Conservation (CIC) (French: ''Conseil International de la Chasse et de la Conservation du Gibier'', German: ''Internationaler Rat zur Erhaltung des Wildes und der Jagd'') is a politically independent not-for-profit international organisation, aiming to preserve wildlife through the promotion of sustainable use of wildlife resources. The initialism "CIC" comes from the organisation's original French name ''Conseil International de la Chasse''. The idea to establish an international hunting organization stemmed from an international conference in the small southern Slovak town of Palárikovo in November, 1928. Building on this idea, the CIC was subsequently registered and founded in Paris two years later during its inaugural general assembly in November, 1930. Walter Adams (economist)
Walter Adams (August 27, 1922 – September 8, 1998) was an Austrian-born American economist and college professor. He served as the 13th President of Michigan State University and served as an expert witness before 36 congressional committees. Early life Walter Adams was born in Vienna, Austria, in 1922. His father, Edward Adams, was an international linen and diamond merchant; his mother, Ilona Schildkraut, was a homemaker. The family moved to Brooklyn, New York, in 1935, where he attended New Utrecht High School. He earned a BA in economics from Brooklyn College in 1942, graduating magna cum laude, before joining the U.S. Army in April 1943.
