Nicolás Cabrera (footballer)
Nicolás Alejandro Cabrera (born 5 June 1984) is an Argentine former football right winger who last played for Quilmes. Club career Cabrera made his professional debut in 2003 for Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata, while coached by Mario Gómez. He played for the club until 2006, making 71 appearances and scoring 3 goals and playing both Copa Libertadores and Copa Sudamericana. His best season with Gimnasia was the second place obtained in the 2005 Apertura, coached by Pedro Troglio. In 2007, he was transferred to Racing where he could not establish himself as a regular first team player. For the 2008 Clausura he went to play for Newell's Old Boys and had mostly good performances. However, due to personal problems with Newell's manager, Ricardo Caruso Lombardi, he was left out of the squad. For the 2008-09 season he was bought by Vélez Sársfield. La Plata
La Plata () is the capital city of Buenos Aires province, Argentina. According to the 2022 Argentina census, census, the La Plata Partido, Partido has a population of 772,618 and its metropolitan area, the Greater La Plata, has 938,287 inhabitants. The 2010 Copa Sudamericana de Clubes (officially the 2010 Copa Nissan Sudamericana de Clubes for sponsorship reasons) was the 9th edition of CONMEBOL's secondary international club tournament. The winner qualified for the 2011 Copa Libertadores, the 2011 Recopa Sudamericana, and the 2011 Suruga Bank Championship. Liga Deportiva Universitaria de Quito, LDU Quito was the defending champion. The CONMEBOL Sudamericana, also known as Copa Sudamericana (; ), is an annual international club football competition organized by CONMEBOL, the governing body of football in South America, since 2002. It is the second-most prestigious club competition in South American football. CONCACAF clubs were invited between 2004 and 2008. The CONMEBOL Sudamericana began in 2002, replacing the separate competitions Copa Merconorte and Copa Mercosur (that had replaced Copa CONMEBOL) by a single competition. Since its introduction, the competition has been a pure elimination tournament with the number of rounds and teams varying from year to year. 2008–09 Argentine Primera División Season
The 2008-09 Primera División season was the 118th season of top-flight professional football in Argentina and the nineteenth season in which the Apertura and Clausura system is used. Boca Juniors won the Apertura championship for their 29th national title after a three team playoff with Tigre and San Lorenzo. The Clausura championship was won by Vélez Sársfield for their 7th national title. Gimnasia y Esgrima (J) and San Martín (T) were relegated to the Primera B Nacional. Format The format for the 2008-09 season remained unchanged. The season was split into two tournaments called Apertura and Clausura. Each tournament was contested by the same 20 teams in a single round-robin format. The champions of each tournament is determined by points. Ricardo Alberto Gareca Nardi (; born 10 February 1958), nicknamed ''el Tigre'' and ''el Flaco'' ("Tiger " and "Slim"), is an Argentine football manager and former player. He was recently the manager of the Chile national team. Hugo Tocalli
Hugo Daniel Tocalli (born 21 January 1948) is an Argentine professional football coach and former player. He is the current youth coordinator of Independiente. Tocalli played over 400 games as a goalkeeper, and went on to coach a number of clubs as well as the Argentina under-20 team. Playing career Tocalli was with San Lorenzo de Almagro before starting his playing career in 1970 with Deportivo Morón. In 1971, he joined Nueva Chicago where he played until 1974. In 1975, Tocalli started his first spell with Quilmes before moving to Argentinos Juniors in 1977 where he was a teammate of the young Diego Maradona.
