Nguyễn Thiện Thuật
Nguyễn Thiện Thuật (阮善述, 1844–1926), courtesy name Mạnh Hiếu, was a Vietnamese people, Vietnamese revolutionary leader, who commanded armed forces during the anti-colonial struggle. As a high-ranking official under the Nguyễn dynasty, he governed Hải Dương province, Hải Dương, Hai Phong, Hải Phòng, and Quảng Ninh. When Hanoi, Hà Nội surrendered to the French in 1883, the Nguyễn regime signed the Treaty of Huế (1883), Treaty of Huế (also known as the Harmand treaty) and acknowledged the French protectorate over the northern and central parts of the Vietnam. When he was ordered to stop fighting, Nguyễn resigned from his post and retreated to Đông Triều District, Đông Triều, where he organized and continued armed resistance against the French. Hưng Yên Province
Hưng Yên (/hɨŋ˧˧:iən˧˧/) is a province in the Red River Delta of Northern Vietnam. History Dynastic period The area of the province of Hưng Yên has been inhabited for millennia. Under the Ngô dynasty, it was called Dang Chau. It was then renamed Thái Bình prefecture under the Early Lê dynasty, Dang Chau and Khoái Châu phủ under the Lý dynasty and Long Hưng garrison and Khoái lo under the Trần Dynasty. Under the Later Lê dynasty, Hưng Yên belonged to Sơn Nam and then divided into Sơn Nam Thượng and Sơn Nam Hạ garrisons. Thái Bình was a former coastal eastern Provinces of Vietnam, province in the Red River Delta region of northern Vietnam. Its name is chữ Hán (太平) for "great peace." August Revolution
The August Revolution (), also known as the August General Uprising (), was a revolution led by the Việt Minh against the Empire of Vietnam from 16 August to 2 September 1945. The Empire of Vietnam was led by the Nguyễn dynasty and was a puppet state of Empire of Japan, Japan within the Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere. The Việt Minh, a political league ''de facto'' led by the Indochinese Communist Party, Communist Party, was created in 1941 and designed to appeal to a wider population than the communists could command. The Việt Minh was supported by the United States, US. The revolution had the participation of factions that did not follow the Việt Minh. The Japanese army in Vietnam did nothing to prevent the revolution as they ''de facto'' surrendered to the Allies and World War II ended.
