Nguyễn Nhật Ánh
Nguyễn Nhật Ánh (born May 7, 1955) is a Vietnamese author who writes for teenagers and adults. He also works as a teacher, poet and correspondent. His works include approximately 30 novels, 4 essays, 2 series and some collections of poems. He is regarded as one of Vietnam's most successful contemporary writers. His best-known series, ''Kính Vạn Hoa'' (Kaleidoscope), which contains 54 volumes, has been made into 3 drama series of the same name. Biography ''Nguyễn Nhật Ánh'' was born on May 7, 1955 in Quảng Nam province, Vietnam. At an early age, he attended Tiểu La, Trần Cao Vân and Phan Chu Trinh schools. In 1973, he moved to Sài Gòn to pursue a teaching career. After graduating from Ho Chi Minh City Pedagogical University, he was a teacher and a member of the Hồ Chí Minh Communist Youth Union. Victor Vu (; born November 25, 1975) is a Vietnamese-American film director, writer and producer. Along with critical acclaims, news media and public opinion have also accused Vu of plagiarism. In Vietnam's landmark first official plagiarism investigation, Vietnamese regulators found Vu's film ''Inferno'' to have copied Hollywood's 1991 film '' Shattered''. This resulted in ''Inferno's'' disqualification from Vietnam's Golden Kite Awards. Vu called a press conference to try misinform Vietnamese public that in Hollywood, such identical similarities are the obligatory result of using Hollywood filmmaking method. The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (, Đoàn TNCS), simply recognized as the Union (), is the largest socio-political organisation of Vietnamese youth. The union is under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam. The organization was founded on March 26, 1931, and was led and trained by Ho Chi Minh. The Union is considered by the Communist Party of Vietnam to be the training ground for future cadres, and the "extended arm" of the state.
