New York State Route 37
New York State Route 37 (NY 37) is a state highway in the North Country of New York in the United States, extending for on a west–east axis. The western terminus of the route is at an intersection with U.S. Route 11 (US 11) in Pamelia, Jefferson County. Its eastern terminus is at a junction with US 11, NY 11B, and NY 30 in Malone, Franklin County. In between the termini, NY 37 passes through Ogdensburg and Massena. It is a two-lane, nondivided, full access roadway for most of its entire length, except for portions between Massena and western Franklin County, where the route widens to a four-lane divided highway. NY 37 was assigned in 1930 to the portion of the Theodore Roosevelt International Highway between Redwood and Malone as well as to a previously unnumbered roadway between Watertown and Redwood. Pamelia, New York
Pamelia is a town in Jefferson County, New York, United States. The population was 3,160 at the 2010 census, up from 2,897 in 2000. The town was named for Pamelia Williams, wife of landowner and developer General Jacob J. Brown. Pamelia is in the north-central part of the county and is north of Watertown. History The town was first permanently settled ''circa'' 1804. The town was formed in 1819 from part of the town of Brownville. Around 1824, the name was briefly changed to "Leander", but was then changed back to "Pamelia". A small part of the town of Orleans was added to Pamelia in 1824. A small south part of Pamelia was lost when Watertown incorporated in 1869. Theresa (, ) is a village in the town of Theresa in Jefferson County, New York, United States. The population was 863 at the 2010 census. The village is northeast of Watertown. History The village was planned as early as 1818 at the high falls on the Indian River. The first business at this location was started in 1820, and a post office was established there in 1822. The southern terminus of the route is at an intersection with NY 12 and NY 26 in the Lewis County village of Lowville. Ogdensburg International Airport
Ogdensburg International Airport is a public airport located in the town of Oswegatchie, southeast of Ogdensburg, in St. Lawrence County, New York. It is owned by the Ogdensburg Bridge & Port Authority, which also owns and operates the Ogdensburg–Prescott International Bridge, Port of Ogdensburg-Marine Terminal Facility, Commerce Park, Port of Waddington, a medium-heavy industrial park and two short line railroads. The Ogdensburg Bridge and Port Authority is a New York State public-benefit corporation. The international airport is just outside the city limits on NY 812. New York State Route 68
New York State Route 68 (NY 68) is an east–west state highway located entirely within St. Lawrence County in the North Country of New York in the United States. The western terminus is at an intersection with NY 37 in Oswegatchie, just west of the Ogdensburg city limits. The eastern terminus is at a junction with NY 56 in the hamlet of Colton within the town of Colton. Along the way, NY 68 passes through the village of Canton, where it overlaps with U.S. Route 11 (US 11) through the village. NY 68 was assigned in the mid-1920s, but only from Canton to Ogdensburg. The route was extended to Colton in 1930, then truncated slightly to end at the NY 37 bypass in the 1970s. Morristown (village), New York
Morristown is a hamlet (and census-designated place) and former village along the Saint Lawrence River in St. Lawrence County, New York, United States. The population was 395 at the 2010 census. The village is named after Gouverneur Morris. The hamlet is on the northern edge of the Town of Morristown and was north of Gouverneur. Jacques Cartier State Park is southwest of the village. The former village has their own school, Morristown Central School. History The first settlers of the town began the community around 1804, but the village was not permanently settled until 1808. Black Lake (New York)
Black Lake is a lake in the northern part of New York in the United States and is the largest lake in Saint Lawrence County. The lake is south of the Saint Lawrence River and parallels the river for many miles. Black Lake is of glacial origin, having been formed by the melting of continental glaciation in the state around 12,000 years ago. Water flows into the lake from several sources, the largest being the Indian River. The lake drains into the Oswegatchie River and then into the Saint Lawrence River.
