New Lebanon is an Unincorporated area#United States, unincorporated community in Cooper County, Missouri, Cooper County, in the U.S. state of Missouri. The community is on Missouri Route A between Otterville, Missouri, Otterville seven miles to the south and Pilot Grove, Missouri, Pilot Grove seven miles to the north. The Lamine River flows past about two miles west of the community. History A post office called New Lebanon was established in 1887, and remained in operation until 1906. The community took its name from the local New Lebanon Cumberland Presbyterian Church and School, New Lebanon Church. New Lebanon Cumberland Presbyterian Church and School and New Lebanon Historic District are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Otterville, Missouri
Otterville is a city in southwest Cooper County, Missouri, United States. The population was 454 at the 2010 census. History Otterville was originally called Elkton, and under the latter name was platted in 1837. The present name is after nearby Otter Creek. A post office called Otterville has been in operation since 1848. Geography Otterville is located on routes A and BB three-quarters of a mile north of the county line and U.S. Route 50. The community is on the Long Branch tributary to the Lamine River and the Lamine River Conservation Area which is one mile east of the town. Clifton City is about 4.5 miles to the north on route BB. Pilot Grove, Missouri
Pilot Grove is a city in the Pilot Grove Township in northern Cooper County, Missouri, United States. The population was 768 at the 2010 census. History Pilot Grove was platted in 1873. The city was named from an old-growth grove of hickory trees, which once served as a local landmark or "pilot" to travelers. On April 2, 2025, an EF2 tornado struck the city of Pilot Grove. There were no weather related injuries reported but there was damage to structures. The local tornado sirens didn't activate. Geography Pilot Grove is located along Missouri Route 135 and is four miles south of I-70. It is approximately eleven miles southwest of Boonville. The Lamine River ( ) is a U.S. Geological Survey. National Hydrography Dataset high-resolution flowline dataThe National Map, accessed May 31, 2011 tributary of the Missouri River in central Missouri in the United States. It is formed in northern Morgan County, about southeast of Otterville by the confluence of Flat and Richland creeks, and flows generally northwardly through Cooper and Pettis counties. In northwestern Cooper County the Lamine collects the Blackwater River and flows into the Missouri River northeast of Lamine and west of Boonville. At Clifton City, the river has a mean annual discharge of 455 cubic feet per second. Below the mouth of the Blackwater River, its discharge averages 1,279 cubic feet per second (see Blackwater River.) The river was named by French explorers for mining operations in the area. New Lebanon Historic District is a national historic district located at New Lebanon, Cooper County, Missouri. The district encompasses five contributing buildings in the central business district of New Lebanon. It developed between about 1860 and 1947, and includes representative examples of Queen Anne style architecture.
