Alois Neruda
Alois Neruda (baptized Alois Jan; 20 June 1837 – 25 January 1899) was a Czech cellist. Life Neruda was born on 20 June 1837 in Kostelec nad Labem. His father was the composer and singing teacher Josef Neruda (1804–1876). He won a demanding competition for the position of solo cellist of the Provisional and the National Theatre there, having worked in this position for 26 years. During his time in Prague, Neruda became close friends with Bedřich Smetana, who often entrusted him with the premiere interpretation of his compositions, considering Neruda to be one of the best instrumentalists in Prague. In 1879, Neruda played in the premiere performance of Smetana's quartet "From My Life", and in 1884 Neruda was the cellist for the premiere of Smetana's second string quartet. Jan Nepomuk Neruda (Czech: �jan ˈnɛpomuk ˈnɛruda 10 July 1834 – 22 August 1891) was a Czech journalist, writer, poet and art critic; one of the most prominent representatives of Czech Realism and a member of the " May School". Early life Jan Neruda was born in Prague, Bohemia. He was son of a small grocer who lived in the Malá Strana district. They lived in Újezd Street and from 1836 to 1838, they lived in Zásmuky, where Jan's father was born. When he was four, they moved to Ostruhová Street (now called in his honor), where they owned a house known as "U Dvou Slunců" (At the Two Suns). His studies began in 1845 at the local Grammar school then, in 1850, continued at the Academic Grammar School in Clementinum. Johann Baptist Georg Neruda
Johann Baptist Georg Neruda (, – ) was a Czech classical composer, violinist and cellist. Life Neruda's dates of birth and death are only approximations (1708 according to the '' Grove Dictionary'', other sources list 1707 or 1710). He was born in Rosice in Bohemia (today the Czech Republic), but it is unclear in which Rosice (either in Rosice near Chrudim or in today's part of Pardubice) to a well-respected musical family. After spending his earlier years gaining a good reputation as a violinist and conductor in Prague and German lands, Neruda became '' Konzertmeister'' of the Dresden court orchestra. Teresa Stolz
Teresa Stolz (born Tereza Stolzová; 2 June 1834 – 23 August 1902) was a spinto soprano from Bohemia, for long a resident in Italy, who was associated with significant performances of the works of Giuseppe Verdi, some with his supervision including '' Aida'' in the first performance in Italy, and the soprano part in his Requiem. She was his companion from 1897. Stolz has been described as "the Verdian dramatic soprano par excellence, powerful, passionate in utterance, but dignified in manner and secure in tone and control". Josef Neruda (16 January 1807, Mohelno – 18 February 1875, Brno) was a Moravian organist and music teacher. Josef was a great-grandson of the composer Johann Baptist Georg Neruda. Life Josef Neruda learned the basics of organ playing in the Rajhrad Abbey, Rajhrad monastery. In his youth, he was a teacher assistant in Náměšť nad Oslavou, besides this he played in Haugwitz chapel and taught piano in Olomouc. ''Neruda'' is the third studio album by the Canadian rock band Red Rider, released in 1983 (see 1983 in music). The album was recorded at Metalworks Studios in Toronto, Ontario. The figure on the album cover was inspired by Denise Sexton.
