Nenad Borović
Nenad Borović ( sr-cyr, Ненад Боровић; born 4 January 1964) is a politician in Serbia. He has served in the Assembly of Vojvodina since 2008 and has been a prominent figure in the municipal politics of Ruma. A member of the Democratic Party (''Demokratska stranka'', DS) for many years, he joined the Serbian Progressive Party (''Srpska napredna stranka'', SNS) in 2019. Private career Borović was born in Ruma, in what was then the Socialist Republic of Serbia in the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. He has a bachelor's degree as an agricultural engineer. Opposition (politics)
In politics, the opposition comprises one or more political parties or other organized groups that are opposed to the government (or, in American English, the administration), party or group in political control of a city, region, state, country or other political body. The degree of opposition varies according to political conditions. For example, in authoritarian and democratic systems, opposition may be respectively repressed or desired. Members of an opposition generally serve as antagonists to the other parties. Scholarship focusing on opposition politics did not become popular or sophisticated until the mid-20th century. Aleksandar Vučić – Serbia Must Not Stop (, AV–SNSDS), commonly shortened to just Serbia Must Not Stop, is a parliamentary group in the National Assembly of Serbia, led by the Serbian Progressive Party. Aleksandar Vučić
Aleksandar Vučić, (born 5 March 1970) is a Serbian politician serving as President of Serbia since 2017. A founding member of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS), he previously served as President of the SNS from 2012 to 2023, Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia, First Deputy Prime Minister from 2012 to 2014, and Prime Minister of Serbia from 2014 to 2017. Born in Belgrade, Vučić graduated as a lawyer from the University of Belgrade Faculty of Law, Faculty of Law of University of Belgrade. 2018–2020 Serbian Protests
In late 2018, a series of largely peaceful protests (called Stop Bloody Shirts, ; or One of Five Million, 1 of 5 Million, #1of5million, ) over the rise of political violence and against the authoritarian rule of Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić and his governing Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) began to take place in the Serbian capital of Belgrade, soon spreading to cities across the country, as well as in cities with the Serbian diaspora. Proportional Representation
Proportional representation (PR) refers to any electoral system under which subgroups of an electorate are reflected proportionately in the elected body. The concept applies mainly to political divisions (Political party, political parties) among voters. The aim of such systems is that all votes cast contribute to the result so that each representative in an assembly is mandated by a roughly equal number of voters, and therefore all votes have equal weight. Under other election systems, a bare Plurality (voting), plurality or a scant majority in a district are all that are used to elect a member or group of members. PR systems provide balanced representation to different factions, usually defined by parties, reflecting how votes were cast.
