Neighbours Characters
''Neighbours'' is an Australian television soap opera that has aired since 18 March 1985. It was created by television executive Reg Watson. The Seven Network commissioned the show following the success of Watson's earlier soap '' Sons and Daughters''. Although successful in Melbourne, ''Neighbours'' underperformed in the Sydney market and was cancelled by Seven four months after it began airing. It was immediately commissioned by rival Network Ten for a second production season, which began screening on 20 January 1986. ''Neighbours'' became the longest-running drama series in Australian television history. In 2005, it was inducted into the Logie Hall of Fame. The storylines concern the lives of the people who live and work in Erinsborough, a fictional suburb of Melbourne, Victoria. Sons And Daughters (Australian TV Series)
''Sons and Daughters'' is an Australian Logie Award-winning soap opera/drama serial, broadcast by the Seven Network between January 1982 and December 1987 and produced by the Reg Grundy Organisation. It was created by executive Reg Watson, and is distributed by Fremantle. Sons and Daughters is remembered for its regular use of dramatic end-of-season cliffhangers and its most famous character; Patricia "Pat the Rat" Hamilton, initially played by Rowena Wallace, who became the second soap opera actor, rather than personality after Pat McDonald to win the Gold Logie award for her performance in the role - (McDonald had previously won the Gold Logie for her role in 70's soap opera '' Number 96'' as Dorrie Evans, coincidentally she also starred in Sons and Daughters, featuring for its entire run. The Ramsay family is a fictional family from the Australian soap opera ''Neighbours''. The family were one of three central families created by Reg Watson and introduced in the first episode of ''Neighbours'' in March 1985. Watson wanted the Ramsays to be humorous and rougher than the Robinson family. Ramsay Street, a cul-de-sac which is the central setting of the series, is named after the family. A dead end, also known as a ''cul-de-sac'' (; , ), a no-through road or a no-exit road, is a street with only one combined inlet and outlet. Dead ends are added to roads in urban planning designs to limit traffic in residential areas. Ramsay Street
Ramsay Street is the fictional cul-de-sac in which the characters of the Australian soap opera ''Neighbours'' live. The street is set in the equally fictional Melbourne suburb of Erinsborough. ''Neighbours'' storylines primarily centre on the residents of the street, which was named after Jack Ramsay, the grandfather of original character Max Ramsay (Francis Bell (actor), Francis Bell).
