Nedre Eiker Municipality
Nedre Eiker was a municipality in Buskerud county, Norway. It is part of the traditional region of Eiker. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Mjøndalen. The old municipality of Eiker was divided into ''Nedre Eiker'' (lower Eiker) and ''Øvre Eiker'' (upper) on 1 July 1885. General information Name The Old Norse form of the name was ''Eikjar''. The name is the plural form of ''eiki'' which means "oak wood". The meaning of ''Nedre Eiker'' is "(the) lower (part of) Eiker". (The municipality of Eiker was divided in 1885.) Coat-of-arms The coat-of-arms was granted on 26 June 1970. The arms show three gold-colored oak leaves on a red background. The arms are canting because the meaning of the name (Eik) comes from the word for oak. Geography The municipality is located in the southern part of Buskerud county. Nedre Elvehavn
Nedre Elvehavn is a neighborhood in the city of Trondheim in Trøndelag county, Norway. It is situated the borough of Østbyen in Trondheim Municipality. The neighborhood is on the east side of the river Nidelva (across the river from the borough of Midtbyen, but Nedre Elvehavn is generally considered to be part of the city center). Nedre Elvehavn is within walking distance of the Midtbyen and Trondheim Central Station. The area is located north of the neighborhood of Bakklandet, west of Møllenberg, and south of Nyhavna. In the late 1990s, the borough went through a major renovation, resulting in a new and expensive area close to the city centre with business, shopping, restaurants, pubs, and housing. Nedre Fagervollvatnet
Holmvatnet is a lake and a reservoir in Rana Municipality in Nordland county, Norway. It is located northeast of the villages of Mæla and Myklebustad. The present lake was formed during the building of the Sjona hydroelectric power station during the early 1970s, when the original Holmvatnet was dammed and flowed together with the lake ''Nedre Fagervollvatnet'' further upstream. Nedre Roasten is a lake in Femundsmarka National Park on the border of Innlandet and Trøndelag counties in Norway. The lake sits on the border of Engerdal Municipality in Innlandet county and Røros Municipality in Trøndelag county. Nedre Stjørdalen is a former municipality in the old Nord-Trøndelag county in Norway. The municipality existed from 1850 until its dissolution in 1902. The municipality covered the western part of what is now Stjørdal Municipality in Trøndelag county. The administrative centre was located at Værnes where Værnes Church is located.
