Naval Offices is a heritage-listed office building at 3 Edward Street, Brisbane, Edward Street, Brisbane City, Queensland, Brisbane City, City of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. It was designed by Department of Public Works (Queensland), Department of Public Works and built from 1900 to 1901 by J Mason. It was added to the Queensland Heritage Register on 21 March 2013. History The brick former Naval Offices at 3 Edward Street in Brisbane was constructed in 1900–01 by the Queensland Department of Public Works as the first purpose-built headquarters for naval forces in Queensland. Built for the Queensland Marine Defence Force (QMDF), it was soon used by the Australian Commonwealth Navy (ACN). Lytton is an outer riverside suburb in the City of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. In the , Lytton had "no people or a very low population". The historical region was a significant naval base after the establishment of Fort Lytton between 1880 and 1881.
