Navajo is a hilly community in San Diego, California near East County. It is a designated planning area for the city of San Diego. Del Cerro
Del Cerro (Spanish for "of the hill") is a hilly residential neighborhood of approximately 2,300 residents in the eastern part of San Diego, California. Del Cerro borders the communities of San Carlos, Allied Gardens, College Area, Grantville, and the city of La Mesa, and is adjacent to Lake Murray and San Diego State University. For planning purposes the city includes it in the Navajo community planning area. History The Del Cerro area was developed as a residential suburb during the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s. The San Diego State University Master Plan has proposed to build a housing project for faculty and staff on university-owned undeveloped open space in Del Cerro (at the site of Adobe Falls, a city historic landmark). Grantville is a middle-class neighborhood in the city of San Diego, in California, United States. It borders the communities of Allied Gardens, San Carlos, Tierrasanta and Mission Valley East. History Grantville is one of the oldest communities in San Diego and the State of California. The first European settlement in California was established in San Diego in 1769, in the area which is now Old Town San Diego State Historic Park. The mission itself, Mission San Diego de Alcalá, was moved in 1774 to what is now the Grantville area. The restored Mission is a major landmark and tourist destination in Grantville. San Carlos is a neighborhood in the eastern area of San Diego, California. Allied Gardens
Allied Gardens is a residential neighborhood in the eastern Navajo community of San Diego, California. It neighbors San Carlos to the east, Del Cerro to the south, the College Area to the southeast and Grantville to the southwest. History Allied Gardens was developed by Louis L. Kelton and Walter Bollenbacher in 1955. They purchased the from the Waring estate. Their original business name was the Allied Contractors, hence the name. Facilities The Allied Gardens Recreation Center and Allied Gardens Pool are located on Greenbrier Avenue, next to Lewis Middle School. La Mesa () is a city in San Diego County, located east of Downtown San Diego in Southern California. The population was 61,121 at the 2020 census, up from 57,065 at the 2010 census. Its civic motto is "the Jewel of the Hills." History La Mesa in Spanish means "the table", or alternately "the plateau", relating to its geography. San Diego River
The San Diego River is a river in San Diego County, California. It originates in the Cuyamaca Mountains northwest of the town of Julian, then flows to the southwest until it reaches the El Capitan Reservoir, the largest reservoir in the river's watershed at .
