National Unity Party (Philippines)
The National Unity Party (NUP; ) is a political party in the Philippines. The party was formed in 2010 by former members of Lakas–CMD, Lakas–Kampi who broke away after internal discontent within the party. From 2016 to 2022, the party was part of the PDP–Laban-led coalition in the House of Representatives of the Philippines, House of Representatives, the Coalition for Change (Philippines), Coalition for Change. The party was accredited by the Commission of Elections as a national party in a resolution dated October 5, 2011. On September 26, 2012, the party held its first national convention where they announced support for Team PNoy for the 2013 Philippine general election, 2013 elections, however most NUP members ultimately supported the United Nationalist Alliance, especially Garcia. Senate Of The Philippines
The Senate of the Philippines () is the upper house of Congress of the Philippines, Congress, the bicameral legislature of the Philippines, with the House of Representatives of the Philippines, House of Representatives as the lower house. The Senate is composed of 24 senators who are elected at-large (the country forms one district in Philippine Senate elections, senatorial elections) under a Plurality block voting, plurality-at-large voting system. Senators serve six-year terms with a maximum of two consecutive terms, with half of the senators elected in staggered elections every three years. Romeo Macusi Acop (born March 11, 1947) is a Filipino people, Filipino former police officer and politician who served as House of Representatives of the Philippines, Representative for Antipolo's 2nd District from 2010 to 2019, and again in 2022. 2013 Philippine General Election
A general election was held in the Philippines on May 13, 2013. It was a midterm election—the officials elected were sworn in on June 30, 2013, midway through President Benigno Aquino III's term of office. Being elected are 12 senators (half of the Senate), and all 229 district members of the House of Representatives. These national elections were held on the same day as local and gubernatorial elections, as well as a general election in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao. The Partido Demokratiko Pilipino (PDP, ) is a populist political party in the Philippines founded in 1982. It was previously known as Partido Demokratiko Pilipino–Lakas ng Bayan (PDP–Laban) from 1983 to 2024 as a result of a merger with Lakas ng Bayan (Laban).
