National Science Museum, South Korea
The National Science Museum is a national science museum in Daejeon, South Korea. History It opened in Seoul in 1926 and became a national museum in 1949. It relocated in 1990 near Expo Park. It welcomed 1,795,076 visitors in 2017. The National Science Museum was established in Seoul, Jung-Gu, Yejang-Dong in 1945 to promote scientific development in everyday life and to encourage scientific creativity amongst youth. In 1983, the expansion and relocation of the Science Museum took place at Daejeon's Daedeok Science Complex. The compound was to have total space of 176,232 m2 and the interior space of 43,384 m2. After 5 years of construction, the building opened on 9 October 1990. Daejeon
Daejeon (; ) is South Korea's list of cities in South Korea, fifth-largest metropolis, with a population of nearly 1.5 million. The ''Encyclopedia of Korean Culture'' () is a Korean-language encyclopedia published by the Academy of Korean Studies and DongBang Media Co. It was originally published as physical books from 1991 to 2001. There is now an online version of the encyclopedia that continues to be updated. Overview On September 25, 1979, a presidential order (No. 9628; ) was issued to begin work on compiling a national encyclopedia. Work began on compiling the encyclopedia on March 18, 1980. Expo Science Park
Expo Science Park () is a science park in Yuseong District, Daejeon, South Korea, built for Taejŏn Expo '93. Facilities at Expo Park included a garden, amusement park, and observation tower. While the tower and some buildings remain, most of the expo buildings have now been removed.
