Natchitoches Central High School
Natchitoches Central High School is a Public school (government funded), public high school in Natchitoches, Louisiana, United States. It is governed by the Natchitoches Parish School Board. History The development of Natchitoches Central High School, like so many schools in the 1960s and early 1970s, began with Federal Court orders to desegregate the two major existing high schools in the city of Natchitoches. To insure smooth transition, the faculties of both Central High School and Natchitoches High School attended a workshop at Northwestern State University to develop curricula, attitudes, and the necessary internal organizations to promote the total school. The Natchitoches Parish School System was placed under another court order in 1981 to further desegregate its schools. Natchitoches ( ; , ), officially the City of Natchitoches, is a small city in, and the parish seat of, Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana, Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana, United States. At the 2020 United States census, the city's population was 18,039. it is the most populous city in Natchitoches Parish. Established in 1714 by Louis Juchereau de St. Denis as part of Louisiana (New France), French Louisiana, the community was named after the indigenous Natchitoches people. Vernon Lee Roberson (born August 3, 1952) is an American former professional football defensive back who played two seasons in the National Football League (NFL) with the Miami Dolphins and San Francisco 49ers. He played college football at Grambling State University. He also played for the Calgary Stampeders and Ottawa Rough Riders of the Canadian Football League (CFL). Patrick Alan Listach (born September 12, 1967) is an American professional baseball shortstop, coach, and manager. As a player, Listach appeared in Major League Baseball for the Milwaukee Brewers and Houston Astros from 1992 and 1997. He won the American League Rookie of the Year Award in 1992. Joe Dumars III ( ; born May 24, 1963) is an American professional basketball executive and former player who is the head of basketball operations for the New Orleans Pelicans. He could play either shooting guard or point guard on offense and was a highly effective defender. He played his entire 14-year career with the Detroit Pistons. Paul Foshee
Paul Lee Foshee (November 12, 1932 – November 8, 2020) was an American politician. A member of the Democratic Party, he served in the Louisiana House of Representatives from 1960 to 1964 and in the Louisiana State Senate from 1972 to 1976. Life and career Foshee was born in Natchitoches, Louisiana, the son of Mamie Lee Smith and George Washington Foshee. He attended Natchitoches Central High School, graduating in 1950. After graduating, he attended Northwestern State University, earning his bachelor's degree in business in 1961. Foshee served in the Louisiana House of Representatives from 1960 to 1964. After his service in the House, he then served in the Louisiana State Senate from 1972 to 1976.
