Naini
Naini (also known as Naini Industrial Area) is an industrial township of Prayagraj in Prayagraj district, Uttar Pradesh, India. By the 1950s Naini was established as the chief industrial area of the city. History Naini had a prison, Naini Central Prison, where many, including Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India—were imprisoned during the Indian independence movement. The first official Airmail flight in the world arrived in Naini from Prayagraj. Henri Pequet carried 6,500 letters a distance of 13 km. This was the first commercial civil aviation flight in India.100 Years of Civil Aviation in India - Milestones

Naini Central Prison
Naini Central Prison or Naini Jail at Naini, Prayagraj, is one of the most important correctional Institutions in Uttar Pradesh, built during the British Raj. Independence movement The prison played a large role in the pre-independence era, when many freedom fighters, including Motilal Nehru (1930), Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru (the first prime minister of India), Govind Ballabh Pant, Narendra Dev, Rafi Ahmed Kidwai, Hasrat Mohani were imprisoned there during Indian independence movement. During his stay, Nehru wrote a series of letters to his young daughter Indira from the prison, starting on her thirteenth birthday until 9 August 1933. These were later published as ''Glimpses of World History.'' On 1 March 1941, Mahatma Gandhi visited the prison, to see imprisoned freedom fighters Vijayalakshmi Pandit and Abul Kalam Azad. Indira Gandhi herself (later prime minister of India) was arrested along with her husband Feroze Gandhi and spent her prison term in Naini, from 11 September 1942 ...

New Yamuna Bridge, Allahabad
The New Yamuna Bridge is a cable-stayed bridge located in Prayagraj. The bridge was constructed by the end of 2004 with the aim of minimizing the traffic over the Old Naini Bridge. The bridge runs north–south across the Yamuna River connecting the city of Prayagraj to its neighborhood of Naini. The construction was consulted by COWI A/S, a Danish consulting company. Main construction was done by Hyundai and was successfully completed in 2004. Henri Pequet
Henri Pequet (1 February 1888 – 13 March 1974) was a pilot in the first official airmail flight on February 18, 1911. The 23-year-old Frenchman, in India for an airshow, delivered about 6,500 letters when he flew from an Allahabad polo field to Naini, about 10 kilometers away. He flew a Humber-Sommer biplane with about fifty horsepower (37 kW), and made the journey in thirteen minutes. The letters were marked "First Aerial Post, U.P. Exhibition Allahabad 1911."
