Ali Naci Karacan (1896 – 7 July 1955) was a Turkish journalist and publisher. History The NACI's precursor, The National Advisory Committee on Immunizing Agents, was established in 1964. The National Archives of the Cook Islands (NACI) was created in 1974 in the Cook Islands for ensuring the safe storage of government, cultural and oral traditions of the nation. Originally housed in the Takitumu Hostel at Takamoa, the archives moved to the National Library of the Cook Islands building, and then in 1987 to the Takuvaine Valley Seismological Observatory. The archives were badly damaged by Cyclone Sally in early 1987. It has a collection of over 4,000 images of the islands in the 1950s from the Donald Stanley Marshall collection. Muallim Naci (), literally "Naci The Teacher" (b. 1850 – d. 12 April 1893), was an Ottoman writer, poet, educator and literary critic. He lived during the reform-oriented Tanzimat period of the Ottoman Empire and advocated modernization without breaking ties with the old. He contributed in criticisms about both the prose and the poetry, and acquired a special place in Turkish literature and society by studying problems and providing ideas that would affect the Turkish people.
