Not Another Completely Heuristic Operating System
Not Another Completely Heuristic Operating System, or Nachos, is instructional software for teaching undergraduate, and potentially graduate level operating systems courses. It was developed at the University of California, Berkeley, designed by Thomas Anderson, and is used by numerous schools around the world. Originally written in C++ for MIPS, Nachos runs as a user-process on a host operating system. A MIPS simulator executes the code for any user programs running on top of the Nachos operating system. Ports of the Nachos code exist for a variety of architectures. In addition to the Nachos code, a number of assignments are provided with the Nachos system. The goal of Nachos is to introduce students to concepts in operating system design and implementation by requiring them to implement significant pieces of functionality within the Nachos system. In Nachos' case, Operating System simulator simply means that you can run an OS (a guest OS) on top of another one (the host ...

North American Conference Of Homophile Organizations
The North American Conference of Homophile Organizations (NACHO, pronounced "Nay-Ko") was an umbrella organization for a number of homophile organizations. Founded in 1966, the goal of NACHO was to expand coordination among homophile organizations throughout the Americas. Homophile activists were motivated in part by an increase in mainstream media attention to gay issues. Some feared that without a centralized organization, the movement would be hijacked, in the words of founding member Foster Gunnison Jr., by "fringe elements, beatniks, and other professional non-conformists". Origins NACHO was modeled on an earlier organization, the East Coast Homophile Organizations (ECHO), that formed in 1963 to coordinate the activities of homophile groups from New York City, Washington, D.C., and Philadelphia. Planning conference The first meeting of the organizations that would become NACHO was held over the weekend of February 18, 1966, in Kansas City under the title "National Planning C ...

Nacho (given Name)
Nacho is the common short form of the Spanish name Ignacio. The feminine form is Nacha, for the given name Ignacia. Origin Although there is no official record for it, it seems to be connected with the visit of Ignacio de Loyola to Rome in 1538 to get the Pope's approval for his foundation of the Company of Jesus. During his stay in Italy, the Italian pronunciation of his Spanish name, Ignacio, led to the form Nacho and remained as a familiar way to address people named Ignacio. Since then, Jesuits are commonly called "nachos".''El Universal'', N.° 105, 15 April 1821 Film and television * Nacho Barahona (born 1970), Spanish film editor * Nacho Cerdà (born 1969), Spanish film director *Nacho Galindo (actor) (1908-1973), Mexican-American actor * Nacho Guerreros (born 1973), Spanish actor * Nacho Martínez (1952–1996), Spanish actor * Nacho Vidal (born 1973), Spanish pornographic actor *Nacho Vigalondo (born 1977), Spanish filmmaker *Nacho Varga, fictional character from ''Bett ...
