Nogometni klub Istra 1961 (), commonly referred to as Istra 1961, is a Croatian professional football club based in Pula, that competes in the Croatian First League. It is a common opinion amongst many people that ''Istra 1961'' was founded in 1961 by merging two clubs from Pula, NK Uljanik and NK Pula, forming NK Istra. However, NK Istra is not the same club as NK Istra 1961. NK Istra 1961, then named NK Uljanik, was founded in 1964. NK Istra were competing in Prva HNL since the first season, but were relegated in the 1996–97 season to Druga HNL. They were promoted back to Prva HNL in the 1998–99 season, but they were relegated again in the next season, never coming back to Prva HNL. Meanwhile, NK Uljanik was in the shadow of NK Istra, but they were promoted to Prva HNL in the 2003–04 season and are the best club in Pula since then. Stadion Aldo Drosina
Stadion Aldo Drosina () is a multi-use stadium in Pula, Croatia. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home ground of NK Istra 1961 and formerly NK Istra. The stadium has a capacity of 8,900. From March 2009 to January 2011 the stadium underwent a major reconstruction. The west stand was completely demolished and redesigned, and a roof was added over the west stand. New seats replaced bench seating all around the stadium, and the three existing stands were cleaned up. Krunoslav "Kruno" Jurčić (; born 26 November 1969) is a Croatian professional football manager and former player. He is currently the head coach of Egyptian Premier League club Pyramids FC. Playing career Club Jurčić started his professional career at Dinamo Zagreb in 1988, before moving to Inker Zaprešić in 1991 and Istra in 1993. Milivoj Bračun
Milivoj Bračun (born 22 April 1958) is a Croatian football manager and former player who was most recently the manager of Slovenian First League side FC Koper. Born in Zagreb, SR Croatia, back then within Yugoslavia, Bračun played for Dinamo Zagreb, Red Star Belgrade and Elche CF. Club career In the summer of 1986, after six seasons with Dinamo Zagreb, Bračun's contract at Maksimir expired. NK Međimurje is a Croatian football club based in Čakovec. The club is named after Međimurje, the region in northern Croatia where the city of Čakovec is located. Igor Pamić (born 19 November 1969) is a Croatian former professional footballer and current manager. He made five appearances for the Croatia national team during his playing career. Playing career Club He was born in the village of Žminj in Istria and started his professional career at the club Istra Pula in early 1992. He left the club after two seasons for Dinamo Zagreb, where he spent another two seasons before moving to Osijek in July 1995. Elvis Scoria (born 5 July 1971) is a Croatian former football player and manager. He played for HNK Rijeka, Dinamo Zagreb (then called Croatia Zagreb), NK Istra, NK Zagreb and for Spanish club UE Lleida. Playing career As a player, Scoria appeared in two Cup finals in 1994 with HNK Rijeka and in 1997 with NK Zagreb losing both the finals. Pula Arena
The Pula Arena (; ) is a Roman amphitheatre located in Pula, Croatia. It is the only remaining Roman Empire, Roman amphitheatre to have four side towers entirely preserved.
