The NCHC Goaltender of the Year is an annual award given out at the conclusion of the National Collegiate Hockey Conference The National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) is an NCAA men's Division I hockey conference. The league was formed on July 9, 2011 and began playing for the 2013–14 season, the same season that the Big Ten Conference began competition, as a ... regular season to the best goalie in the conference as voted by the coaches of each NCHC team. The Goaltender of the Year was first awarded in 2014 and is a successor to the CCHA Best Goaltender which was discontinued after the conference dissolved due to the 2013–14 NCAA conference realignment. The National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) is an NCAA men's Division I hockey conference. The league was formed on July 9, 2011 and began playing for the 2013–14 season, the same season that the Big Ten Conference began competition, as a combination of six previous members of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association, WCHA and two of the Central Collegiate Hockey Association, CCHA. Hunter Markus Shepard (born November 7, 1995) is an American professional ice hockey goaltender currently playing with the Ottawa Senators of the National Hockey League (NHL). Growing up in Grand Rapids, Minnesota, Shepard attended Grand Rapids High School where he played prep school hockey and baseball. In his senior year, he received a Minnesota Minute Men Mr. Hockey Award and joined the Bismarck Bobcats of the North American Hockey League (NAHL). After two seasons with the Bobcats, during which he won their Goaltender of the Year award, he was approached by the Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs men's ice hockey (UMD) team to be their third goaltender. Kaidan Mbereko (born July 28, 2003) is an American college ice hockey goaltender for Colorado College of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). Playing career Mbereko spent one season with the Lincoln Stars of the United States Hockey League (USHL). During the 2021–22 season, he posted an 18–11–3 record, with a 3.01 goals against average (GAA) and .898 save percentage.
