The National Basketball League Grand Final Most Valuable Player is an annual National Basketball League (NBL) award given since the league's inaugural season to the best performing player of the Grand Final series. The winner receives the Larry Sengstock Medal, which is named in honour of Larry Sengstock, the winner of the league's first Grand Final MVP award. The league named the award after Sengstock in 1999. Brisbane Bullets
The Brisbane Bullets are an Australian professional men's basketball team in the National Basketball League (NBL) based in Brisbane, Queensland. They competed from 1979 to 2008, and returned to the league in 2016. Brisbane were one of ten NBL foundation teams and have won three NBL championships, being successful in the 1985 and 1987 seasons, and again in 2007. They have also competed in the 1984, 1986 and 1990 grand finals and have reached the playoffs 22 times. On 30 June 2008, it was announced that the Bullets license had been returned to the NBL, following financial difficulties for owner Eddy Groves and the failure of attempts to find a new ownership group. Bruce Bolden
Bruce Bolden (born November 30, 1963) is an American former professional basketball player. He played 17 years in the National Basketball League (NBL) in Australia. He won an NBL championship with the South East Melbourne Magic in 1992, when he was named the NBL Grand Final Most Valuable Player (MVP). He led the league in rebounding in 1993, and he was also named the NBL Best Sixth Man in 1999. His final season was played in the Australian Basketball Association with the Albury Wodonga Bandits in 2003–04. His No. 32 was the first jersey to ever be retired by the West Sydney Razorbacks. Peter Hansen (basketball)
Peter Hansen (born February 15, 1965) is an American former professional basketball player. He played nine seasons in Australia across the National Basketball League (NBL) with the Perth Wildcats and the State Basketball League (SBL) with the Perry Lakes Hawks. After playing college basketball with the St. Mary's Rattlers, Hansen debuted for the Hawks in 1989 and won the SBL Most Valuable Player Award. Upon joining the Wildcats in 1991, he led the team to the NBL championship behind a grand final MVP performance. He went on to win an SBL championship with the Hawks in 1994 and a second NBL championship with the Wildcats in 1995. Early life Hansen was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Perth Wildcats
The Perth Wildcats are an Australian professional basketball team based in Perth, Western Australia. The Wildcats compete in the National Basketball League (Australia), National Basketball League (NBL) and play their home games at Perth Arena, RAC Arena, known colloquially as "The Jungle". After three years of strong lobbying to the NBL, the creation of a national basketball team in Perth finally occurred in 1982. The Westate Wildcats were established and played out of the 800-seat Perry Lakes Basketball Stadium. Ricky Grace
Ricky Ray Grace (born 20 August 1966) is an American-Australian former professional basketball player who spent the majority of his career in the Australian National Basketball League with the Perth Wildcats. Early life Grace attended Wilmer-Hutchins High School in Dallas, Texas. College career Grace played college basketball at Midland College between 1984 and 1986. In 1985–86, he averaged 15.8 points and 10.7 assists per game in leading Midland to a 33–1 record. His 363 assists broke Spud Webb's former school record of 355 set in 1982–83. With two years of eligibility remaining, Grace transferred to the University of Oklahoma in 1986 alongside future NBA player Mookie Blaylock. Scott Fisher (born July 20, 1963) is an American-Australian former professional basketball player and coach, most known for his time spent with the Perth Wildcats of the National Basketball League (Australia), National Basketball League (NBL) in both roles.
